Cruise around the med+ Travel Insurance?

I will be going on a cruise around the med, towards the end of july and was wondering if this counts as a Annual multi-trip travel or a Single trip...and so which insurance should I apply for.

Show all answers

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
WE cruised the Med a couple years ago and the Baltic last year and in both cases we had hotel stays and train travel before our cruise. When we purchased insurance we were asked the start date of our travel and the end date. All of the travel between those dates counted as ONE trip and our rate was based on those dates and the total cost of all of the associated travel.

I always use Travelex for my travel insurance and they do have reasonable rates. Check their web site and also the travel insurance comparison site I provided.

It would be a single trip although you could buy an annual policy to cover this and any other short trip for the next year. If you are a US resident, annual plans are very basic and do not cover trip cancellation, UK resident annual plans are better. Single trip plans in both countries will cover most things.

Check out Squaremouth, it's a comparison site that allows you to compare all kinds of travel insurance.

This is a single trip, if you go onto one of these confused.com sites, they will show you best offer at the moment. Also check if your bank has free travel insurance attatched to your bank account as most do now days. Have a great holiday and don't forget your travel sickness pills, you will need them.

Don't buy the travel agents insurance, they are heavily loaded.

If you are going to have any other trips buy an annual insurance, much cheaper.

Beware of "free" credit card insurance. A lot do not cover you properly.

srracvuee
not sure what your asking but if your booking through a travel agent then they will offer you an insurance to cover all

welcome news
This is a single trip - starting date the day you lock your front door and the ending date the day you open it again. (remember inclusive counting a week Friday - Friday is 8 days)

Whether you buy an annual policy depends on whether you intend having other holidays - normally you will need at least three during a 12-month period to make it worthwhile.

Surprisingly if you intend to go on a long holiday e.g a month then an annual policy can be cheaper than a single trip policy (especially if you go to the USA)

If you run a quote at www.portwood.co.uk you will get immediate quotes from both single and annual contracts to help you decide.

Single trip but check with your insurer to make sure they are covering this as a single trip.
