most cruise lines have a standby policy - be at the dock with your suitcase - go for half-price if there's room (of course you risk being left behind)

Try Vacationstogo.com 90 day ticker. I've gotten extrodinary deals 3 months before my trip.... up to 75% discounts.

The first rule for getting a lower priced cruise is to book early, a year in advance is not too early; requires a deposit of maybe a couple hundred dollars per person. The second rule is don't box yourself in to a specific cruise, time or place because the cheaper cruise may not be going there. The third rule is look for specials on the cruise line web sites; or have a travel agent find what you want. You do, however, need to look at the web sites to find out what your options are, what's out there for you.

You will probably find the cheapest prices with Carnival as they are the budget cruise line, but they are not among the best cruise lines and for a few dollars more you can have a better cruise..

The shorter cruises are 4 or 5 days, and the normal ones are either 7 to 14 days or more. If you are not sure whether you will like cruising or don't have the money for a 7 day cruise, go on a short one first.

To save some money, consider driving to the port; Miami, Ft Lauderdale, N.O., Houston, LA, NJ. Most ports have plentiful and safe parking (I have driven many times to Miami and Ft Lauderdale) at both places that costs about $12 a day. Driving can save money over the cruise line "add-in" for airfare. We generally drive most of the way on one day and stop about an hour or two from the port for the night. Then we continue the short trip the next day to the port. Most ships start boarding between noon and 1:00 PM. If you are a cruise club member you generally get to go on first, or early.

Hi! I've found some pretty cheap cruises from the site http://www.bbcarefreetravel.com They provide all different cruises and prices. Good Luck!!!

I'd recommend Carnival or Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Very good value for the money, and good for younger people. I just took a three-day cruise on Royal Caribbean for under $300, and that includes all your meals.

You definitely save a lot booking in advance, and by getting an inside stateroom (you hardly spend any time in your cabin, so the lack of view doesn't matter). The official website for the cruise line does offer the lowest price you'll find anywhere - I checked dozens of sites offering cheap rates, but none were better than the official price.

Follow these steps and you will get a great deal on a cruise.
1) Use Vacationstogo.com as a starting point. Their search engine is very user-friendly, and will help you narrow down which cruise you might want to go on. I personally would not book with them, as most of their prices list guarantee's only, and do not include all taxes and fees.
2) Next, go to cruisecheap.com and input your cruise selection from vacationstogo.com. Cruisecheap generally has good deals on cruises, and will include all applicable taxes and surcharges that you will incur on your cruise.
3) Next, go to beatanycruiseprice.com. They will beat the cruise price you get from cruisecheap.com.
4) Go to cruisecompete.com and input your cruise info and current bids on your travel dates. They will generally out bid anything else you have previously gotten.
5) I always book with Beatanycruiseprice.com (The Cruise Line Ltd.) They will match any price you get, and the ladies there are really nice and knowledgeable. They have handled 2 cruises with me thus far and I have nothing but good things to say about them. You can always book with the cruiseline themselves too, as they will typically honor any price you get from a TA, if that is the way you like to go. Also, once you have booked, periodically check the price. If the price drops below what you had payed on your booking, call the TA or the cruiseline to adjust your price. If you have already paid full price, they will generally give it to you in the form of an on-board credit, to be used during your cruise, with any remaining balance given back to you at the end of your cruise.

i think royal carribean sails out of Galvaston, Tx. You can cruise a week for as cheap as 299 a person

Way more fun than a cruise and a lot less expensive. Tons of hidden cost in a cruise, be-careful

Try Carnivale Cruises very reasonable. You can go to vacationstogo.com for good prices. If you can take a chance and be flexible, you can get incredible prices if you book at the last minute. I got 70% off by doing this.

Bill in Kansas
Both Royal Carb. and Carnival sail from Galveston. Go to Galveston.com and take a look at the options for the dates you are considering.

Once you pick a ship and a date, go to cruisecompete.com and request a quote.

You will get a ton of offers, but wait for the one that comes from "Cruises-N-More." They will be the lowest price you will get.

I have booked 8 cruises with them, and no-one else has ever come close to the prices they have quoted me.

Good luck
