I'm taking a cruise ship from and to new york city on carnival. I was wondering how long it takes to get off a ship. from the time in lands back in port. The reason for this is I was wondering if i can make a 12:30 tour at rockefller center. Additional Details Yes i do mean upon return to new york
It really depends on which group you are in. Most cruise lines use colored luggage tags to designate who gets off in what order. People who choose to use this system have their bags taken up by the room steward the last night of the cruise. All of these passengers should be off the ship by noon. But there is another option. This is the self assist option. This means that you will not have your bags taken up. You must find a way to get all of your luggage off of the ship yourself. These people are usually released to disembark by 9:30. They should be off the ship and through customs by 11:30. Self assist is probably the only option you have if you want to make it to a 12:30 tour. You could contact the cruise line for more specific information. I hope this helps you!

Do you mean upon it's return to NYC.???? Well ..what does your itinerary say .....if it says it docks NYC by 8:am... then you will definitely be off with enough time to make a 12:30 tour.

Since NCL uses the Manhattan Cruise Ship Terminal, you won't even have to leave Manhattan to get to your hotel or to 30 Rock. Odds are you'll be there by 11 at the latest.
If you are really concerned about making it on time, consider a self help departure. Don't leave your bags outside your stateroom the night before. Instead keep them with you and carry them off the ship yourself. If carry your own bags off the ship, you can disembark with the earliest groups.
I think a bigger concern for you is whether your hotel will be willing to hold your bags if your room isn't ready for you when you get to check-in.... You don't want to have to tote your bags on the NBC tour.
