Cruise information, age restrictions and more info please? |
Okay so I want to go on a cruise for my 17th birthday. I'll be bringing 2 people with me, my best friend who is 16 and my boyfriend who is 18. So all together we have a 16, 17, and 18 year old. I've never been on a cruise before, but my boyfriend owns a boat and we lives near the beach and we go out all the time. What other cruises are there other then carnival cruise and such? I also need it to be on the cheaper side since I'm paying all 3 tickets. I looked up carnival's age restrictions and such, and since it's my 17th birthday I kind of wanted to drink? Are there any cruises that once in international waters the age limit is dropped from 21? I don't really care where the cruise goes, my choice would be Caribbeans or Bahamas or maybe Jamaica? Something like that would be nice. Please let me know what cruises I could go on!! (My 18 year old boyfriend would be our only adult unless 17 is counted an adult) lol

None of the cruise lines drop frm 21, espicially to 17.
You have to have a 21 year old in your party to go on the cruise anyways, being 18. 17. and 16, in order to go you would have to an adult aged 21+ |

Sorry, your going to need an adult ages 21 or 25 based on the cruise line you choose.
Drinking age is 21 on all of the ships.
Gambling age is 18. |

You are out of luck. The age for cruising is 21. In order to sail at the age of 16, 17, or even 18 there must be someone in your party who is 21 years old. They must stay in your cabin or in an adjoining cabin.
And as for getting alcohol on the cruise? You are really out of luck. When you register for a cruise and show up with your documents (birth certificate or passport) they issue you a key card with your picture in it and it shows up every single time they swipe your card whether you are getting on or off the ship, buying things in the shops or when you buy drinks. If you are underage, it will note that on your card and you will not be able to buy alcohol.
You can bring your own alcohol on board but they will charge you a $10 or $15 corkage fee to do this.
As for buying tickets for the cruise? I don't know how much you think they are but most staterooms start at about $499 per person double occupancy. Which means if you plan on getting your own cabin, expect to pay $800 for it. Plus taxes and port fees. Those are extra and will be added on to your bill. Then you will need money for drinks. Those aren't cheap on the cruise. Plus most cruise lines add $10 per day per person for gratuities for the room steward, waiters, busboys,
So I would suggest you take your vacation with your friends somewhere where the rules and regulations won't inhibit your plans.
That or fly to a country where the drinking age is 18. |

You probably need to have at least one adult 21 or older go with you. I am prettysure you will not be able to drink. You will be given a room key that has your picture and age on it, it also acts as a credit card that you pay for everything on the ship with. Good luck |
