Don't use those site, including the cruisejobs link.
Agencies are not always crooked, but most times they are.
It's either directly with the cruise lines, a long, tedious process, that does work only if they send recruiters to your country or start with the concessions.
Concessions run services onboard such as shops, spas, photo, casinos.
As a concession employee you are a staff member, which is a lot better than crew member (better cabins, privileges, food etc)
Best and easiest way is:
www.hardingbros.co.uk
they have some 50 ships, both shops and spas.
Apply online, interview on the phone (unless you live in the UK, then you gotta go to Bristol).
The other shop concession is www.starboardcruise.com
They are bigger, some 90 ships, bu it's not a nice company.
Another big advantage of working in the shops is that they don't usually open while the ship is docked, so you can check the sites, go on tours (usualy for free) etc.
You work more on sea days, but everybody does.
Also, there's 35% discount on merchandise at Hardings.
Good luck |

Apply - you'll more than likely get a job - there's so many to choose from, you have to apply for a job that would interest you. |

This looks like a good site as a starting point for finding a job on a cruise ship. I don't recommend this site in any way, I have never used it, I just think that the inormation and links may be of use to you. http://www.cruiselinesjobs.com/
It describes the jobs available, the requirements, and has links to all the cruise lines. |

Go directly to the cruise lines website, they have a jobs section
For example Carnival (who I contract to for some of my work)
http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Fun_Jobs/ccl_fun_jobs_landing.aspx
They also have an office in the UK for their European Brands

As someone who has worked on a cruise ship before, I can give you some tips. Most cruise lines don't hire directly for most positions, they use hiring partners. Then once the hiring partner decides you would be a good fit for the position, then they send the cruise line people your stuff.
Once you have done one contract, then any re-hire or employment stuff is done through the cruise line scheduling department.
I worked for Royal Caribbean, and used Just Cruis'n Recruitment Inc. as my hiring partner. You can do a Google search and find their website.
The other hiring partner that is used quite a bit is C-Deck. Also a Google search will yield a website.
Princess does accept resumes through their website, however I had sent them several and never heard back anything.

Im in the same boat as you. I currently work in a hotel (have been there 2 years), and other than that have really good customer service skills. What i would really like to do is work on a cruise. I decided that i didnt want to go through the trouble of paying sites money and not even getting the job, so i am leaving for Navy boot camp in a few weeks. I figure that will give me the other side of the training that i need. I plan to go to school while in the navy and even out of the navy while working on a real "cruise". I mean, they cant deny me then, right? |

Here's some information for you. You need to contact the cruise lines directly to inquire about positions you may qualify for and the types of positions they have available. Each cruise line web site has a link to employment, human resources or some such link to lead you to employment opportunities. Some of the web sites will have jobs that the cruise lines are trying currently to fill. With these sites you will be talking directly to the cruise line and not a jobs agency.
Another thing to do is to contact the concession that run the shops on the ships like the souvenir, gift and clothing shops. Below are links for you.
