NO, No, not on the ship at all. The legal drink age on all cruise ships is age 21 and it does not change when you are in international waters or docked in a foreign port. Its still age 21 and older. And all of the cruise lines DO enforce it. The only exception to this is if you cruise from a European or South American port with your parents and your parents sign a waiver for you to have beer and wine. Otherwise always no.

BUT, when you get to other ports in the Caribbean and Mexico you can drink all you want WHEN YOU GET OFF THE SHIP in the clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants and even on tours not arranged by the ship, because the drinking age is age 18 and older. Then you cannot bring alcohol back on board the ship either as it will be confiscated by the cruise line.

If you are on ship with friends who are age 21 or older you COULD ask them to buy 2 drinks when they buy theirs and you all drink well away from where a bartender who sold the drinks would see you. So grab a lounge chair well away from the pool or pool bar or sit in the back of the disco, and have a friend go get you a beer. As long as you do not get drunk and rowdy you'll likely not be noticed. As long as you act like you are 21 or older no one on the ship's staff is gonna come by and ask to see ID.

It does not matter where the ship goes or where it is from. The age is 21 aboard.

The one that I just went on was 21, but that was US and Royal Caribbean.

Not on the cruise, no. But if you go on a cruise to a place that has a lower drinking age such as the Bahamas you can drink and gamble there when you're 18.

Not really, they don't really enforce it much though though I only got asked for my ID a couple times and that was only because i won the drink in a contest and a lot of people were around saying i looked young. Most of the staff doesn't even care. I guess it might depend on the line how strict they are. I had a friend that drank on her cruise when she was 19.

Their policy though is you must be 21 to drink.

According to International Maritime Law, the drinking age onboard a vessel is simply the age legally mandated by its country of registration, eg UK is 18, Canada is 19, and US 21. Practically speaking however, US cruise lines simply enforce US policy and make it 21, which is stricter than the law actually requires. It is the same for airlines as well: drinking age for Delta: 21, British Airways: 18, IranAir and Saudi Arabian: are you kidding!!!
