anybody that has not been on a royal caribbean, will say something else. we crusied 10 times with carnival before we went with royal caribbean...wow, what a difference, I wish we could go back and do the 1st 10 with royal. Ships are much newer, nicer and bigger!!

I loved the Disney Cruise! There is everything for adults and children. Soooo much fun and soo much to do wheather is hot or cold out! They have a movie theater, dance clubs, spas, play rooms, etc. Wow! worth the money thats for sure!!!

I have been on both and prefer Carnival. We will be taking our 5th cruise this coming Feb, and I couldn't be more excited! Our kids love the camp carnival. But the best place we have ever been is to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.....simply the best!

Try Ocean Village, I have worked on there and at times there has been 480 odd children of all ages for toddlers to teens. They are well looked after and some parents say they don't see their children from dawn to dusk, which gives them a break as well.

Good luck.

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
I have never cruised on a Carnival ship but have cruised on many Royal Caribbean and Norwegian ships, and also on several Celebrity and Princess cruise ships. In my opinion Royal C has THE best ships for kids and in particular their Freedom Class ships ( http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/home.do;jsessionid=0000lFnA-7aOPd5AaP2E5p1hd0I:13hldcctq?shipClassCode=FR&br=R) and their Voyager Class ships ( http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/class/home.do;jsessionid=0000lFnA-7aOPd5AaP2E5p1hd0I:13hldcctq?shipClassCode=VY&br=R ).

Take a look at the ships using their virtual tours. These are the best ships for kids because they have the most on board activities of all of the cruise lines. The Freedom Class have the rock wall, flowrider, mini-golf, basketball court, ice skating rink, and the H2O Zone; all of these activities are free including ice skates. The Voyager Class have the rock wall, mini-golf, basketball court, ice skating, and in-line roller bladeing. Both classes of ships have the Adventure Ocean for kids and the teen disco called Fuel.

Having been on Norwegian, Princess and Celebrity cruise line ships I can tell you that Royal has them beat by far with things to do on the ship. All of these lines, including Carnival, have programs for kids and special area on their ships where kids can hang out and participate in activities. But Royal IS a step above.

Cruises to the Bahamas are usually 3 to 5 days and visit just a couple of island, including the cruise line's private island. Caribbean cruises are usually 7 days or longer and in my opinion more fun because you have a longer cruise and visit more places. But both are fun, its just a matter of how much fun you want to have. Both would be more fun for kids than a cruise to New England/Canada, or Alaska, or Europe.

I've been on a Royal Carribean cruise before and I really enjoyed it. The dinners were great, and there was always a lot to do.

I have heard that the Carnival ships aren't as fun as the Royal Carribeans, but I don't know that from experience.

Carnival! for sure.

i think the med cruises are the best. you don't have to travel far and some even depart from the UK.

good family cruise lines are Disney, Princess and NCL.

Compo Lives!
Carnival is horrible.. Royal Caribbean is the best! Carnival offers nothing to do besides eat crappy food and swim in their tiny swimming pool.
