Cruise to grand cayman..money?
I am going on a cruise to cozumel and the grand cayman...do i have to exchange my u.s. currency for thier currency...or do the shops and cabs in those places take u.s. money?? if i do need to exchange it then where and how do i do so!
I have been to those Western Caribbean cruise stops multiple times and they accept the US dollar and all major credit cards as payment. My advice is to take along about $100 to $150 in fives and one dollar bills so that you can pay the exact costs in US dollars. Thee stores and indoor markets generally will take credit cards if the purchase is $10 to $15 or more. But if you are making small purchases US cash is fine in both places.

We went on a cruise over the summer and went to Jamaica, grand cayman and Cozumel. All of the stops took US dollars and there was no need to get it converted.

You can use the U.S. dollar in those ports. Just make sure (unless you want souvenirs) to get your change in U.S. currency. Most of the time this will happen but a few shops tried to give me the Cayman Dollar as change.
