Cruise wear for a 24 y/o woman?

Ok, most people will tell you no jeans, but honey it's YOUR cruise! LOL remember that! I wore jeans with a nice shirt, heels, and did my makeup and hair pretty on the casual nights and was just fine. Smart casual would be no jeans but khaki or black pants, a cute skirt, and a nice shirt. Formal would be a dress, doesn't have to be a "prom" dress but a nice dress. If you want to repeat a dress, by all means! No one will deny you dinner if you do not abide by their rules, believe me, they just do this so you feel like a star lol. You can wear the same dress twice if you want usually people are more excited to wear something different each time. It's kind of like a "prom" would be a good comparison, some people go all out and some just wear "sunday dress" and some avoid it all together
Smart Casual is some nice capri's (can be jean if you want preferably khakis or black though) and a blouse. I wondered the same thing when I went on my first cruise. The only real restriction is that you can't wear shorts for dinner in the formal dining room. You can wear pretty much whatever you want in the buffet dining room though so if you're not comfortable getting semi dressed up eat from the buffet, but I would recommend the formal dining room, the food is awesome and it's still all you can eat you just have to ask for it.

1. you could wear the same dress twice. and honestly, you don't even need a dress for formal night. i just went on a cruise last month and many women were just wearing nice pants or capri pants on formal night.
2. "smart casual" for the most part meant capri pants. that's what most women were wearing every night for dinner. you don't have to wear dresses or pant suits even though the website says that. most men were wearing jeans on my cruise.

Now that the airlines are charging for luggage, more experienced cruisers are cutting back even further on the clothes they bring. By all means, feel free to wear the same dress twice. A large number of women are bringing a pair of black slacks and a dressy top and couple of regular tops for the smart casual nights. The men sure have it easy.

i wore sundresses. i wore one formal night and we went to the "cafe" OR buffet the other night, where casual attire is acceptable.
jeans, shorts, and flip flops are generally not acceptable attire
at dinner in the main dining room.
go and have fun. once you do it once, you'll get the hang of it !!!!
and want to go again !!!!

You could wear the same cocktail dress twice (most people do). Although it says 'pantsuits' you could wear say black pants and a dressy top, or a skirt and smart top. Just be warned, people on cruises who wear ball gowns or prom dresses look ridiculous! Have a lovely time and try not to worry about your clothes. Unless you are really unsuitably dressed they do not send you back to your cabin in disgrace! Have fun.
