I have been on about 20 cruises on 4 different cruise lines and they all had a formal night, but never a requirement to wear a mask for a ball. Now years ago some of the lines did have a masked ball, but they do not do that anymore; at least on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess or Norwegian. And I have not heard of that being the case on any other lines these days.
In past years the cruise lines did a number of things that they no longer do these days. Some line, for example, do not have a standard midnight buffet every night. In the past that was a staple. The lines used to advise you ahead of time of theme nights, like western, or Caribbean nights. Now the only night they advise you of is the formal nights; and those, by the way, are requested but not required. If you do not want to go formal on those nights you do not have to |

they a musk ballet also a captain's diner too and you have to have tux if you want it is cheaper to buy it ashore than on-board !! |
