TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
I just returned from a cruise to Cozumel, plus Jamaica and Grand Cayman. The weather was great, the seas were at about 9 feet swells at certain points but the ship's ride was very smooth. There was some motion but it was very light. The return trip to Florida (cape Canaveral) we had winds about 25 knots passing by Cuba but otherwise the ride was smooth and the water was perfect for swimming; went to the beach twice at port stops.

The best way to keep the ships motion from bothering you is stay mid-ship and also sit where you can see the ocean and the horizon. The ships being used these days have automated stabilizers which minimize the rocking. The larger ships cut through the water so easy that you don’t even feel like you are moving. When there is bad weather the cruise lines will steer around and away from it, sometimes changing the order of port stops. Also, the ships generally move overnight and dock in the mornings so you don’t feel much movement. Consequently, your chances of getting sea sick are minimal. There is generally less motion than on an airplane. If you do get sick, all ships have a doctor and they will dispense sea sick medicines. If you are prone to motion sickness, just get pills or a patch from your own doctor before you go, or go to a boating store and get a sea sickness bracelet.

i've been to cozumel. and it's pretty smooth. but there was really bad weather going on and it was rocky!, i was a little tipsy too. so i'm sure it wouldn't be bad at all.

I have been on 24 cruises and i always loved them, i was on the new biggest cruise ship in the world kinda disappointing. But i have been on Alaskan cruises Atlantic cruises Mediterranean, panama canal and yes Caribbean cruises i went on one in November and it was fine they are very well trained to deal with emergency's if in the rare event one happens. I was on a Mediterranean one that sank in 2002 they handled the situation very well no one got hurt or killed the only bad thing was that no one rescued us till 5 min after the sinking. But that is very rare and you shouldn't feel any rockiness you feel like your on land in a 5 star city i am sure you will enjoy your cruise!! if you are scared go on luxury cruise ship sinking's history on yahoo or google or type in something like that ( on yahoo or google). But yeah you should have a great time!! Enjoy your trip!!!
