My husband and I drove from Norwich and stayed over night in Southampton before our cruise. We were offered free parking at the terminal when we booked our cruise, so it worked out quite well. Plus we went the night before, so we weren't rushing around the day we left. A lot of the hotels offer deals to cruise passengers. |

I don't know where you're travelling from, but an offpeak return from Aberdeen is only £140. Check your fare options with http://www.thetrainline.com/
It should only cost you £210 if you need to travel during the morning rush hour and you've left it until the last minute. |

If you are travelling with P&O they can will take care of that.
As for the other companies I do not know
It will cost you extra but in my experience the holiday begins when you leave home and if you can afford a cruise, you can afford the extra for peace of mind.
I have cruised twice , (once from southampton) and cruising again this year. It is the only way to see many different places in one holiday. It may seem dear at the time but when you take in all that you get it is not it is comparable to land holidays. and your hotel room travelles with you |

when we cruised with cunard last year we used a coach service called Cruise Connect, it cost us £69 each from the midlands and took us right to the ship, check with your cruise operator, they may have something similar.
Alternativly, look at National Express, although you will need a taxi from the coach terminal. |

We have driven to Southampton from the Midlands.
When you arrive at the dockside, the car is taken from you and driven to a secure compound.
P. and O. also organise coaches which pick up at motorway services and which work out a lot cheaper than £200; a couple with whom we shared a table on the Oriana a couple of years ago chose to coach from Derbyshire.
If you aren't travelling with P & O, enquire about other coach/bus services from your Town. |

We went down from the Midlands and it was £44 (single as we flew back) each.
Sounds as if you are starting before 10:30 (peak time rates). As they don't board until the late afternoon (unless you are coming a long way) why not get later train.
Flybe go to about 10 domestic UK airports from Southampton airport, have you checked out their flights/prices?
Just booked Flybe flights up to Scotland from Birmingham in May. Nil charge, paying only taxes, think it was £90 return for both us total! |
