best idea is to know what the specific itinerary is and how much the fare is going for. then go to different websites and look for the best price.
cruises-n-more.com,vacationstogo.com,c... are some on line sites.
good luck

First of all a "last second" booking these days means that you will book between two weeks and six weeks before the cruise. There are no longer any bookings on the day of the cruise or a day or two before it because of new security measures after 9/11. All of the cruise lines are now required to provide to port officials (Homeland Security) a passenger listing and information about passengers. The cruise line strongly request that all passengers complete a pre-sailing registration form either online or by mail up to about 30 days before the cruise. And passengers who do not complete the pre-sailing information MUST show up at the pier at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure to complete the information.
As for discounts, most of the cruise line web sites have a link to their specials which will get you the best discounts that you can get anywhere. Usually the best fares for cruises are obtained by booking very early, like a year or so in advance. But the cruise lines do list specials on their web sites that are good deals. With the economic downturn there are now many more listed.
Carnival cruise line has a "one day" sale for this Thursday, Oct 30 listed on its web site right now. They also have specials that you can get to by clicking on "DEALS": http://www.carnivalcruiselines.com/cms/fun/specials/default.aspx
Royal Caribbean has its specials that you can get to by clicking on the link for "DEALS & GIFTS" and then looking at "limited time specials" and Hot Deals".
Norwegian Cruise line also has a page for deals and specials: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/hotdeal/specialOffers.html
Celebrity Cruise line also has specials, called "exceptional offers": http://rccl.bridgetrack.com/07/promotions/default.htm?jsessionid=0000Ifkp2g8-5-DvP_2QZIJCkVt%3A12hdebdrn&ProspectID=824203735C9747C5B14F6AB34219C065
So the discounts for most of the cruise lines are there if you just take the time to look. OR, you can ask a travel agent to find what you want. |

Hello,
there are plenty of last minute deals on-line and you can also check out a local travel agency. |

usually only discounts are available if you book really early (you better be certain of the travel dates) or get a last minutes (more of a discount but less chance of getting the room type you want) the best option is to sail again with the same cruise company
I've heard that those other websites for booking "discount" cruises does book them but does not act as a backup when you check in at the port |

I would recommend checking out BookMe.com... You can compare all the major travel websites in 60 seconds, and only search for the ones you want. Keep checking, and eventually you find a GREAT deal! And they only search reputable/reliable sites, so you won't need to worry about anything.
