Disney is better for older children - not necessarily a year and a half. Disney is by far more expensive than Carnaval.

Personally - save the $$$ , enjoy Carnaval (which I have been on) and have a great time. :o)

p.s. Carnaval isn't the party cruise you've heard about. It's more family oriented...

We went on the Disney Cruise and everyone - adults (granma) and a couple and two kids (age 3 and 1 1/2) had a great time. There were activities for the older child and babysitting available for the younger ones. Dinner was entertaining. We stopped at a private island where again there was a camp for the older one. We enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it.

I have only been on Norwegian but my sister has been on Disney, Carnival and Norwegian.... She said that Disney was amazing! She loved it! She took her 6 year old son and they had a blast. There is something to do for every age. So if you like Disney.... it is SO worth it. She told me about her experience and showed me her pictures and I am getting ready to plan my Disney cruise!

You should do a DCL. I can't imagine anyone saying that it was not all that. The rooms are larger and have two bathrooms. Plenty of actvities for the whole family. Yes, it is much pricier but it's worth it. Your baby will be fine as others bring babies that are 5 months old and older.

I thought Disney Cruise was excellent. It offered something for all ages, and as there were separate adult and family "zones," it seems they have thought of most things.

I sailed on Disney Magic which certainly has an elegant feel to it. Food and service were great, and the whole Disney experience meant that you could behave like a big kid and not feel silly!

Would I go back? Probably. It was a great cruise (just 3 nts) and I would be interested to see the changes since my last trip approx 6 years ago.

I have not been on Disney cruise line but i have been on princess cruises. On the golden princess the Children's facilities and events were OK. I think Disney cruise line is great for children but not for adults. Carnival cruise is what i think would be most Suitable.
Here is what the cruise lines are best suited for
Carnival - For Children and adults with reasonable prices.
Princess - Luxurious elegance and good for both children and adults.
Disney - Better for children.
Cruise Critic's feature ask the editor may help you
For some affordable rates go to vacations to go website.
I hope you have a great trip!
