Do adults travel w/out kids on the Disney Cruiselines?

I'm looking at a cruise AWAY FROM MY KIDS for my 15th anniversary. Disney cruise lines seem very well rated, but I don't want to be with everyone elses kids either! How family oriented are the Disney Cruises?

If you want to be away from kids then DO NOT go on a Disney cruise. There are plenty of other alternatives on great cruise lines that offer more options and accommodations as good or better than Disney. Disney has only two ships and thus your options for itineraries are very limited and prices on Disney tend to be higher.

For an anniversary I recommend Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean or Holland America. Royal Caribbean tends to have families with kids but the other cruise lines have some but not as many kids. All of these cruise lines do have programs just for kids to keep them busy each day and special areas on ships where the kids hang out with professional staff persons to supervise them. Some have special water play areas on ships for kids with water slides and such.

The other way to have fewer kids is to cruise to Alaska, the Panama Canal, The Mediterranean, or New England/Canada. Also, cruises longer than 7 days usually do not have as many kids on board.

tropics man
OMG why would you want to?

Fish are friends, not food (:

On the Disney cruise there are adult only areas. Which induce a pool, restaurants, spa and fitness center, and entrainment areas

YES! Disney cruiseline is one of the best. Its staterooms are bigger than most ships, and for adults they have an adult only pool and restaurant. They have shows every night. And they have rotating dining. This means that instead of being stuck in one huge dining room for the entire cruise, you rotate between three fabulous themed restaurants. While you are on the cruise, most of your time would be spend at the ports exploring. While many people on the cruise do have kids, they dont rule the ship. During the day the kids are pretty much occupied in planned activities. Any cruise you go on is going to have kids on it, so do yourself a favor and go on one of the best cruiselines. They have the best service possible. Even though you rotate dining rooms, your waiter goes with you, and by the second or third day, you waiter knows what you like to drink and has it waiting on the table for you. And they know you by name.

They are very family oriented, however there are several components that are "adult only", such as the adults-only swimming pool, as well as dining experiences and other ventures and activities.

Do you like to go to Disney theme parks? I mean are you a big enough fan of them to have gone before you had kids and you had a great time? If so, the fact that you also want to take a Disney cruise for your anniversary without your kids rather than some other cruise sounds like you really do like Disney a lot (I'm just assuming here) and you'll have a great time if you go. My point is, there will be kids just like there are kids at the park but they shouldn't bother you. After all, they won't be in your room or the other places I mentioned.

Extremely child oriented. Look for a honeymoon cruise.
