If you are a mobility challenged passenger and require a cruise line and cabin that meets your needs, I suggest contacting your travel agent to reserve a cabin for you. Most cruise ships have a limited number of these cabins available, so the earlier you book, the greater the possibility is that you can stay in one of these cabins that have wider doors and larger bathooms. Note also that many are forward or aft on ships. Some of the newest ships now have braille numbering in the elevators and cabin doors too. |

I did not find them to be very accomodating at all in 2002.
Edit: I just did some searching on th net and found that there was a decision by the US Supreme Court in 2005 which requires some compliance with the ADA, but it still falls short of full compliance. |

Yes they do check it out on line some ships have better accommodations than others such as wider rooms, more rails and more handicapped rooms |

Depends a lot on the line.
Remember that the ships are not registered in the US or in most countries with such laws.
The big corps do, like Carnival, Royal etc.
I´ve worked on ships which had NO facilities at all and very old passengers, it was hard for them.
But the cruise line assigned deck personnel to push them around.
Carnival even have facilities for blind people to bring in their dogs. |

It depends on what the disability is...be more specific. |

Oh Yes they do. just let them know, what disabilities ,and they will accommodate, I brought my Mother on a Mothers day weekend cruise and they were FANTASTIC.... we were on a Carnival cruise, but I suspect they all do well for the handicapped |

Yes they do. They have specially designed rooms, and they do go out of their way to help and cater to. There are elevators, and most things are accessible |

Absolutely...in the USA we have the ADA (American Disability Act) that must follow Federal Regulations. If you have concerns contact your local travel agent or cruise lines. |
