Do the couches on cruise ships pull out? |
My boyfriend and I are sharing a room with another couple. There will be 4 twins. We figured we could put two twins together and pull out the couch. Or do you think we could get away with bringing an air bed and a pump? |

There is no need to you to bring a bed because when you make your reservations for four people the cruise line will either assure that you have a cabin that sleeps four, or, depending on the cruise line, arrange for an additional bed to be placed in the room. We just cruise in a cabin on a Royal Caribbean ship that had a bed, a sofa bed, and also a bed that pulled down from the ceiling. That's the normal arrangement for cabins for 3 or 4 on most cruise ships, unless you reserve a full sized suite that can sleep up to 6 or 8 people. |

you can't put them together, in effect they are bunk beds with two lower two higher. There is a set of drawers in between the two lower ones which are fixed and can't be moved. |

The couches do expand to accommodate 2 smallish people. If your friends are large or tall, they may not fit. The couch folds down rather than pulling out, sort of like a futon. An air bed and pump might not be allowed. Also, be sure to check that the ship will allow 4 adults to share a room. Some don't while others are more lenient. Don't try to sneak anything over on them, though. They are very thorough and very strict about their regulations. You may be denied boarding and lose any money you've already paid without recourse. |
