My Dad introduced his 18-year old Granddaughter to gambling on the Carnival Ecstasy.

He taught her how to play the slots and she won $700 her first night!

Depends on the cruise line.

18 on Carnival and RCI (except Alaska, where it's 21)
21 on Princess

On Royal Caribbean, you only have to be 18 and if cruising Alaska, you have to be 21.

yes if you're visiting a united states port that day otherwise you have to be eighteen.

It all depends on where you're going.

If you are porting in America, you have to be 21 to drink and gamble. However, if you're in International Waters, you have to be 18 to gamble and 18 to drink (only beer and wine) with a parents written consent.

I'm a college kid (20) going on a cruise for springbreak so I was pretty excited to hear this news. Norwegian says that if you're cruising in the Pride of Aloha or up to Alaska, American guidelines apply. But we're going to Mexico so the other guidelines apply.

It'll say on your docking papers in small print all the regulations and such. Make sure you read these over!

Some cruise lines, yes, but Royal Caribbean and Carnival allow anyone 18 and up to gamble. My first time in a casino was when I was 18 on a cruise (just be prepared to get carded a lot).

Even though you can gamble you cannot purchase or drink alcohol, cruise lines only allow passengers 21 and up to drink, and you must be 21 the day the ship sets sail, if not the ship will not consider you 21 (even if you turn 21 during the cruise). This NEW rule was passed in 2006 (i found out when I boarded the ship and was handed a piece of paper explaining the new rules). As well as drinking you cannot book a cruise unless you are 21 or have at least one person in your room who is 21.

You do not have to be 21 to gamble on a cruse ship, you have to be 18 to. Infact, i was very young like 16 or 17 but i look older, and walked in and played the slot machine. they dont really check your age for that. as long as u look it, they dont care. i have been on 3 ships, believe me. Though even though you are overseas you still need to be 21 to drink

Yes you have to be 21 to gamble on a cruise ship. Most of the time you have to be at least 21 to even book a trip on a cruise ship as well.
