Do you have to pay for Ice Cream on a Cruise?

I'm going on a Carnival Cruise on Monday and wondering about food, especially Ice Cream? Does it cost extra money for desserts, I know you pay for Soft Drinks and Beer, but what about treats and and the like?

It's hard to say. Cruises are CONSTANTLY changing their "rules". I know on the Disney Cruise, ice cream, soda and all sorts of snacks were including. BUT...if you went to the special coffee place in the adults only section, you had to pay. Alcohol you have to pay for...on ALL cruises. But they had special offers that they show off the day you get on the cruise.

Also, I've been on Holland America and Royal Caribbean. On R.C., you used to have to pay for ice cream and certain snacks. But on Holland America, almost everything was free, except sodas. Iced tea and coffee was free. Lots of things have changed.

If you're worried, contact the company and ask. It's not hard at all. Either call them or e-mail them. You've got plenty of time.

I hope this has helped you at least a LITTLE bit. Enjoy your cruise!

Oh! And also...on MOST cruise lines...room service is free...unless you purchase something that isn't (soda, bottled water, alcohol). Sodas usually aren't free when it comes to room service. It's only free when it's from the fountain machines.

I just found this for you. I'll link it below, but here's a quote from a happy customer.

"In addition to updated children’s menus in the main dining rooms, Carnival’s poolside restaurants also house a 24-hour pizzeria, a grille area serving hamburgers and hot dogs and a complimentary soft ice cream and frozen yogurt station. A children’s turn down service offering freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at bedtime is available, as well."

But here is something about the sodas, etc.

"Also offered is Carnival’s “Fountain Fun Card” program, good for unlimited soft drink purchases throughout the cruise for guests under age 18. The cards, which are purchased once on board, range in price from $12 on three-day voyages to $26 for eight-day voyages."

I hope this has helped a little.

Food, IceCream, Cakes etc are all free. You pay for bottled water, soda and beer/alcoholic beverages plus gratuity charges.
