The Carnival one I went one you did. But you could buy a drink card for somewhere around $15 and it allowed you sodas at any bar, not in the dining hall though. Have fun. |

We have sailed Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival and you must pay for sodas on all of those lines.
For Carnival, you can purchase sodas by the can or an unlimited by the glass program.
The cost by the can is $1.75 plus 15% gratuity.
The cost for an adult soda fountain card is $38.50 plus 15% gratuity. Carnival serves Coke products.
The soda fountain card is not valid for room service sodas on Carnival.
You can get free ice tea, fruit punch and other assorted juice beverages at the beverage bars located in the buffet areas. |

Every cruise company is different. Some you pay and some you don't. I know on Princess cruise lines, you pay, but you can buy a soda card when you board, but unless you drink a lot of soda, to me it is not worth it. One thing that is OK is while you are in a port, you can buy a six pack of soda and bring it back on the ship to your cabin. I have seen people do that before. I think that is a good idea. There are so many tricks to the trade, like Princess also charges for ice cream, but at 3pm daily on most of there ships you can get free ice cream in the buffet court till about 4pm. I took advantage of that several times. |

yes, but at the beginning of the cruise, you can buy this soda package that I think is about $25 and they put a sticker on your sea pass and you can get unlimited sodas for the whole week. Every drink costs, except water, ice tea, lemonade, and juice. |

Yes you do!!! All the cruises that I've been on I had to pay. I would not buy a soda package (aka Soda Card). They are very expensive and not worth it. You can smuggle some on board. Put them in a suitcase or handbag. |

Yes. You have to pay for sodas on the cruise ship. But if you pay $50.00 for a soda card, you dont have to charge the soda every time you get one. |

It depends on the cruise. BUT here is a tip. Sodas are free at the buffet because you get your own drink. So if you are addicted to soda, then bring some sort of big jug or water bottle and fill it up at the buffet whenever you want some! |

Read the small print. you get what you paid for.
Some cruises are all inclusive, including the Bar.
Others the bar is extra.
If you booked a budget price cruise then the bar is likely to be extra.

Usually you are alotted a certain number per day (I think it was 6 on my last cruise). Beyond that, you pay. |

not for now, but they, like airlines, will have to re-coup costs somehow in this oil crisis. Still, I doubt that something as cheap as sodas should be charged. |
