Do you have to sit with strangers at dinner on a carnival cruise?

It will be my honeymoon on the facsination to the bahamas and was hoping to enjoy a romantic dinner with just me and my husband.

Like many others before me said yes you can sit alone just make sure you let the cruise line know ahead of time that you would like a 2 seat table. DO NOT listen to the other guy the dining room is not made to fix cheeseburgers for dinner. It is geared to give of the nice amtosphere not the burger or pizza joint. Also many lines have dining that is not in the dining room. The food cost but it is for people that want a more elegant dinner and some alone time without a million people eating off the same menu.

If there is tables for two you dont have to. Just make sure at the booking that you want such tables as your seeting preference. But be aware of that such tables could run out if theyre get fully booked. But the cruise line will try to do theyre best to comply with your wishes. And there is always alternative reasturants if you dont like youre companionships. But hey, meeting fellow passengers is half of the fun with crusing. Johan.

You can meet with the Maitre'd of the dining room when you board the ship and arrange with him or her your seating requirements. With him (or her), you can change your table arrangement as well as your seating time (late seating, early seating). Do it as SOON as you board though...as many people will want to see when and where they are sitting in the dining room. REMEMBER...your dining arrangements are not guaranteed. So just because you requested a seating time (late or early) when you booked the cruise, doesn't mean you'll get it.

You will have to sit with strangers unless you dine in the buffet. You can get your own table by the window in the buffet. Happy Wedding!

In most cases YES, you will be sitting with strangers. Call your TA/PVP and request a table for 2.

There are 3 of us, and this time 4.
We have only had to sit with strangers once on all our cruises.
I am hoping we have a table for 4 this time. If not, I may change it unless it is with someone we have met on our roll call board on Cruise critic.

2 person tables are at a premium.

Seating is organised once you are the ship so you could be to late.

I suggest you email the cruise line NOW and explain the situation so as to give them good warning.

I am sure they will organise something special for you. It is good PR for them to be seen to be "nice" to honeymooners etc. so they are sure to co-operate. Once they know your situation they are liable to organise another surprise!

Pushing your luck why not give them your cabin no. They may upgrade you or at the very least arrange for some flowers/bowl of fruit etc if the ship is full.

We hav e been on many cruises / many cruise lines, they do like to try and celebrate special occasions.

Have a great time!

FREE room service is a nice alternative.

I've just returned from a Carnival cruise, and it is most definite that you will be sharing the table with strangers. During the cruise I met several couples who were honeymooning. Each couple had to sit at a table with people they didn't know. It was actually a good experience though, and the people who shared our table were pretty cool and we hung out several nights after dinner.
If you wanted to do something romantic, just between you and your husband, picking a cruise was a bad idea--especially a cruise line like Carnival. The only "romantic" alone time you will probably share with your husband is back in your cabin room. Carnival cruises are like the most budget of all the cruise lines, so you don't get all that fancy stuff and romantic atmosphere like Celebrity Cruises, and Norwegian. You would've best been served honeymooning at a resort like Sandals or something where you'd have less people, and no kids, queuing up for the midnight buffet.

Don't go to the dining room the people take forever to serve you. they took 50 minutes to make me a simple cheeseburger while the guy on the pool deck can do it in 5. they expect you to be all elegant and give you bread and fruit to entertain you while you wait forever for your food . personally I think I can do a better job alone than all the dining staff put together. it's just pathetic
