Royal Caribbean adventure ocean for kids.
Your 14 year old may be too old for all that disney offers...but a departure on royal caribbean from orlando would be a good fit...stay on land and visit theme parks at your leisure.
The amenities onboard royal caribbean I think are a better fit for this age bracket. Rock climbing walls, ice skating rink, teen center, adventure ocean kids club, johnny rockets restaurant, seattles best coffee shops.
Carnival cruise line would have waterslide, teen fuel club, camp carnival.
If you travel and stay at holiday inns, marriots royal caribbean or carnival are a good fit.
If you enjoy staying in higher end hotels try celebrity or princess. Still adequate kids programs and finer points for mom and dad. |

We have been cruising with our kids since they were 5 and 7.
The Disney cruise line is wholly focused on the cruise experience for the children. Your 7-year old will love it but your 14-year old may not appreciate the overload of Disney characters constantly hugging them and getting pictures taken. Food is geared towards children's likes..pizza, chicken nuggets. My mistake was thinking this was an adult cruise that accommodates children....quite the opposite...it is a children's cruise that accommodates adult. Very nice cabins, excellent service, adult food was mediocre.
My kids did not enjoy the Royal Caribbean cruise. Too stuffy for them.
My kids LOVE Carnival. The 24-hour pizzeria is a huge hit with my 13-year old! She ate pizza for breakfast, lunch & dinner for 7 days straight. She was in heaven. The kids pool has a neat slide. The have an arcade and kids club. The only thing that I did not like on the last Carnival cruise was the topless sunbathing section at the top of the ship. However, my brothers ventured up there and said the only people up there were old, fat, bald guys.
Carnival also has a kids menu for the dining room plus an super grill with an ice cream machine that is a big plus for my fast food junkies.
Would highly recommend Carnival for your age group.

Try Disney cruises. I hear a lot about them. They have plenty on board for the kids to do and they get to see all of the characters. |

Disney are fab - loads to do for all age groups. Ocean Village if you want something British or Royal Carribbean have fantastic facilities on board. |

It really depends on your interests. Personaly, we are excited to take our kids on the alaskan cruise. There is a huge potential to see many amazing things, learning educational things at the same time, without them even realizing it. It's about the only place in the world where you can stand in one one spot, and turn around and see all the seasons. The true 'circle of life' comes into play with survival of mother nature. |

The Disney cruise is great.I've heard and read many great stories about it. They have activities for kids and teens, but also an area and pools for only 18+, so parents can have a break too. They have 2 ships, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, and all the characters are onboard to party with the kids and have shows. It seems to be a blast! |

Voyages of Discovery used to do a kids cruise in the eastern med, not sure if they still do it though, might be worth checking out |

Yes Ocean Village cruises. They are reasonably priced and the facilities on board are great for kids.

If you are going in the summer Alaska is always fun and educational. It depends on where you live and if flying from east coast to Vancouver would be a problem. If you live in NY you can go to Canada because weather would be comfortable. If you love the sun the Caribbean is always nice, but warmer in summer. How about a Disney Cruise, a few days on water and a few days in WDW? They cater to children, as does carnival. |

Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. Disney is too "young" for these kids. The 7 year old might still enjoy it somewhat, but the 14 year old won't. |

Not such a good idea! At that age, being stuck on a ship is not good. But if you are going anyway, NCL is a good bet. We use them all the time, though on the last one in March 2006, there were too many kids, and they were a LITTLE bit of a nuisance. |
