Does anyone know about getting group discounts on cruise services for college students?

I don't know anything specific about group rates for college kids (nor do I know of any 16 year old college kids), but I recently have been working on getting group rates for a family reunion at all-inclusive hotels (which I highly recommend over a cruise). If you have a group committed to go it is best to call the individual cruise lines (or hotels) and give them the specifics of your group size and dates of travel. I wouldn't suggest you specify yourselves as college kids because that has a connotation with it, but you could identify yourselves as "younger" if you are hoping not to set sail with a boat full of "golden girls". To ease in the planning of this venture you could use a travel agent (one who specializes in cruises) since cruise reservations still allow for commissions (unlike plane fare).

As a group you have buying power that should be taken advantage of in a competitive industry like tourism. Definitely shop around, but do it sooner than later.

usually when you book 8 cabins you can book at a group rate. The only issue you guys may have is that you need to have some age related issues to booking. This is from Carnivals website. The other lines are about the same.
How old do you have to be to travel alone?

Guests are required to be 21 years old (on embarkation day) to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a parent or guardian 25 or older. The exceptions Carnival will make to this policy are:

Married minor couple - The booking must be documented that the couple is married. The couple must have proof of marriage at embarkation or they will be denied boarding without the benefit of a refund.

Domestic Partners/Same-Sex Union minor couple - The booking must be documented that the couple are legal Domestic Partners/Same-Sex Union. The couple must have legal proof of partnership/union at embarkation or they will be denied boarding without the benefit of a refund.

Guest ages will be verified at embarkation. Guests not conforming to this policy will be denied boarding and assessed a 100% cancellation penalty. NO exceptions will be made at embarkation.

The Group policy is slightly different because of stricter group terms and conditions including mandatory chaperones, damage deposits and other considerations.
