The older ships, like , Fasination , Fantasy ,
are a little run down .The newer ships are very nice though. The best thing to do is ask the cruiseline or travel agent when the ship was last renovated .If it was within the past 3 years , your ok on apperance and cleanliness.
Cabin Sizes? On the small size definatley. But your hardly ever in the room anyway. Its good for what you need them for.

We went on the Carnival Liberty earlier this year, so my answer is based on that size ship and the fact that the ship is fairly new.

We had a balcony cabin, so the cabin itself was fairly good sized, certainly big enough for 2 adults and a child.

The bathroom had plenty of shelf space for all of the toiletries, as well as a decent shower that had an adjustable showerhead, which was nice. They also had a clothesline in the shower for swimsuits and wet things. There was also a built-in hair dryer which was perfectly adequate. Carnival also provides you with some sample size toiletries, another nice touch.

There is good closet space, but bring additional hangers. There were no drawers for clothes, just a closet with shelves. This made keeping track of socks, underwear, etc. a nightmare. That was really my only complaint about the storage space.

Plenty of room under the bed for suitcases, bags, etc. However, the bed is fairly close to the window/wall so lots of climbing over to get in and out of bed. Not a problem, per se, just an observation.

Chair, table, and lounger on the balcony. Very nice way to spend an hour or two while in port.

The decor was not what I would want in my home, but all in all it was nice. We had a really good time.

Happy sails!

There are numerous sizes available depending on whether or not you want a balcony, big window, small window, or no window. I stayed in a room with a big window. The room itself wasn't too big, but wasn't cramped by any means. They come in and clean everyday and when you come back from dinner, they have turned down the bed and fold your towels into an assortment of animals (it's actually pretty cool what they can do). If you haven't done a cruise before, it is a lot of fun!

with the exception of suites, most carnival have 186sq ft cabins. smaller than a hotel room for sure but larger than most other cruise line cabins.

Depends on the category, but most rooms are very similar. I don't think it matters too much, hopefully you won't spend that much time in your room, I never do. Anyway, enough room for your luggage, your stuff, and to move around in.....Have fun!

they are small, they are all pretty much teeny tiny, we were lucky though cause we got up graded wooo hooooo! huge *** room and a window for a wall ! hahaha . on the tenth floor woo . but we went on ncl and it was tiny.. lol booo.
anyways the point is, youre not in your cabin much. just to sleep or to nap cause the heat can get to you :P nothing like laying out on the deck then going back to the cool room and the cozy beds for a cat nap :P hehehe ............ i hope you have fun!!
