Does anyone know if you can wear flip flops with a dress to dinner on the Carnival Celebration cruise ship?

i was on celebration in july. i saw people wearing flip flops on formal night and nothing was said to them. if you feel comfortable wearing them, then i don't see were it will be a problem.

I would assume not as flops are "bathing attire"

Is there a dress code for the dining room?

Depending on the length of the cruise, either formal dress or casual resort wear is required in the Dining Room. The dress requirement for children is the same. For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code. Formal Wear: tuxedo (optional); suit and tie; sport coat, tie and slacks; evening gown; cocktail dress; pantsuit Casual Resort Wear: sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit NOTE: Shorts, t-shirts and bathing attire are not permitted in the Dining Room during dinner.

It depends; lots of the cruise ships have "fancy" dinners, where you are susposed to dress up, and there are some dinners that it's OK to dress down. Personally, I would hold off on the flip-flops and wear some nice shoes. When you go to the dinner, check out what other people are wearing, and you will know how you are susposed to dress.
Hope this helps!

I doubt it they go for more fancy attire.

it does not matter were you are having dinner at. flip flops with a dress is too takky. i hate when chicks were flip flops to night clubs. if you can afford to buy a $8 drink you can afford to wear a pair of shoes out that cost more than $3.

i dont see why not.

I"m sure you CAN, but I wouldn't. If it says formal evening, then don't wear flip flops. I would not wear flip flops unless the dress attire said very casual. And be careful of the type of dress you wear WITH the flip flops. There is nothing worse than a dress that would look 100 times better with a different shoe, and the person pairs the dress with flip flops

The advantage of a Cruise is that you can wear whatever you like. Choose a nice dress and I bet you'll look great. Feel good and you'll look good.

glamrockz
honey. just do not wear flip-flops with a dress. ok?

i even felt a moment of cardiac seizure seeing the words together in a sentence.

cheers!

If it is for the formal night, you really shouldn't. Regular nights probably o.k. but personally wouldn't. Cruises usually have less formal eating areas if you don't want to dress up. Have fun!

Mrsjvb
only in the buffet. Dinner in the restaurants is resort casual or Formal.

Having been on several Carnival cruises...I can tell you they say to dress up for dinner, however, do not feel like you have to do that. You can go as casual as you like...there is no "mandatory" dress code for dinner! Can you imagine trying to dress 5 kids for dinner every night?! I didn't and there were a lot of other people that didn't either....with that said...I would not wear a swimsuit, but flip flops with a dress will be FINE!

goldsteinandclegglaw
If no one sees you then it should be fine. If it is formal night, then I would say no.
