Drinking age on international waters?

I'm going on a cruise with some college friends on the Carnival Valor for spring break, however, none of us are 21. Being that we are on international waters can we legally purchase alcohol?

No Carnival's drinking age is 21 for all ships no matter of their location. Someone in your group has to be over 25 or everyone has to be over 21 in order for Carnival to allow you to book the cruise. If you have already booked and do not meet this need they will not let you board the ship.

most cruise lines require that you be 21 evereywher, but a few like royal carrb. let you be between 18-20 with a form from a legal gaurdian. here's the kicker though, the gaurdian has to be on the cruise with you. sorryu i didn't have a better answer for you.

Nope. The drinking age is still 21. Also, if you get caught trying to sneak alcohol on board, they can refuse to let you board.

No, not on the cruise ship. Depending on what ports you go to, a lot of places don't check ID's, especially in Mexico. You can drink all you want there.

On RC its 18 to drink Beer & Wine 21 for alchohol.

I almost took a girl back to my room that was mabey 16.
But there was no door man, they were serving her at the bar and she was all dolled up. She wanted it bad! It wasnt till I got out of the dark club I saw she was a minor.
If you are a female , from this experience you might get away with it if you get all dolled up.

First of all you should check the cruise line's policy. Usually if there is no one over 21, you can't get on the ship. I know that royal caribbean recently changed their policy in summer of 2006 that you now must be 21 to consume alcohol. If you are with a parent or legal guardian, you may be able to consume beer and wine.

Once you hit international waters, some cruises will lower their age requirement. Personally, I was able to drink and I was only 20. Some of the bartenders are more lenient than others, and will give you alcohol as long as you are over 18 while some follow the only "only 21+" rule.

Also, they are a lot more strict on the rule if you are buying alcohol to bring back home. If you are just buying a drink to drink right away, they tend to be more lenient.

Bring a donkey if you want because anything goes on truly international waters.
