Excursions in the Bahamas?

My wife and I will be going to Nassau and Cococay for stops on our cruise. Anyone have good/bad experiences to help choose/not choose our excursions?

When you dock in Nassau walk two blocks up to Bay Street to visit the shops. Return to the ship for lunch unless you want to pay $12-15 a piece for lunch, then take a taxi over to Atlantis and spend the rest of the day, and the evening there.

Atlantis was great, worth the extra money- very nice sceanery. Stay safe in Nassau b/c a few people on our cruise line went out late in the evening and got robbed.

My fiance and I were supposed to go there for our cruise (we were diverted due to a tropical storm).

We wanted to do the SUB Bahamas adventure, parasailing, and snorkeling.

Weird, I used to work on the ships (RCCL) that went to those two places.
Depends on what you like really...Nassau- scuba diving, visit Atlantis, lay on the beach, just about anywhere. Shop on Paradise Island, go for a buggy ride through the city,
In Coco-Cay, again, lay on the beach, snorkeling- there's two plane wrecks and a ship wreck to swim out to, also, para-sailing, jet-skiing...there's a lot to do, time might be the factor, and the weather.

Hope you and your wife enjoy:-)

I took a tour of Nassau the first time we went there. I would not do it again. I paid 100 dollars for four people to listen to a cab driver badmouth the superrich and high rollers that come to his island. Most everything he showed us, we could have walked to from the pier. And we could have taken the water taxi to the Atlantis for about 25 dollars.

The driver even made us pay the toll for the bridge to get to the Atlantis.

Don't do the swimming with the stingrays excursion. It was a big disappointment. The habitat was really depressing. I think it was at an old sandals resort or something. No one in our group really liked it.
