I hope not. It's people who don't take responsibility for themselves that increases insurance premiums. |

are you freaking kidding? its this reason you cant do any damn thing with out signing a waiver. suck it up. you were in the tub you know it can be slippery. maybe someone should be there drying off the steps and your feet as you get out.. be more carefull |

When you get into a hot tub, you know that it is wet. Water on surfaces is slippery. You take that risk. There was probably a sign there saying "swim at your own risk."
Cruise lines aren't stupid. |

No work for your money you slug |

Nope! You should know that around the hot tub and pool the floors will be wet and slippery, therefore negating any claim you would like to get. |

If you got a travel insurence the answer is yes. If not check with the cruise line.
What theyre going to ask you for is:
A written examination from the doctor that you was seing.
Recipts of any money spends (like hospital or medicals),
Some insurrences also says that you shold told them within a setted time (say three mounth) after the accident or the insurrence would fullfil. Johan |

It sounds like the railing was defective and cut your fingers. I hope that you kept all of the records of your medical treatment. I also hope that you discussed your injury with the cruise people before you left the ship.
Anyway, I suggest that you write a letter to the cruise line and explain exactly what happened and enclose a copy of your medical treatments. You need to decide before hand what compensation you want, i.e., reimbursement for your medical and a partial refund for the cruise since you could not enjoy/benefit from the 3 days you were incapacitated.
My bet is that the cruise line will offer to settle with you, anything from another cruise free and your medical paid to some portion of this. Cruise lines like to keep their customers happy. |

Depending on how drunk you were, you might be able to get your medical expenses covered ... but I'm guessing you got that on the ship. People looking to sue are the ones who increase the costs for the rest of us who behave responsibly. I hope that's not what you're after. |

Yes, you can make a claim. That is what General Liability insurance is for - & the ship would not be able to sail without it. Your injury would likely fall under the Medical Expense limit and your doctor bills could possibly be covered. Filling out an incident report at the time of your injury would have been helpful.
Make sure you get documentation from your doctor for all of the treatment you have received. It will then be up to you to make the necessary phone calls to find the proper channels for which to get reimbursed. This could take a very, very long time.
Unless your injuries are serious & permanent, it is doubtful that you will receive anything more than reimbursement for your medical bills. However, I am not an attorney, just a regular person, so please verify my answers with a professional in the legal or insurance industry.
One more thing. Signs such as "at your own risk" are meant to make people more wary & more careful in areas that are hazardous. Just because there is a sign up, does not mean that someone who is legitimately injured is not entitled to ASK for reimbursement.
Hope you find this information helpful. |
