We have been on 4 cruises. 3 with Carnival, and the most recent one with Princess. We wanted to try out an alternate cruise line. I'll tell you what. We just booked our 5th, and it's back with Carnival. We have learned a few ropes after several cruises. Pack your first change of clothing in your carry on because it takes time for your luggage to be delivered to your stateroom. Before digging in at noon, walk around and look at all 6 chow lines. They're all different. One is called ethnic food of the day and changes daily. You can get items from several different lines. 16 oz aluminum Budweiser bottles can be purchased in 'buckets' and you save a little money. Don't try and skip out on the muster drill. They count passengers and check every cabin. Next time Cruising Do's & Dont's and Great Cruises with Samantha Brown are on The Travel Channel, watch them. Bring sun block, flip flops, over the counter meds, and wrist bands, (if you're the slightest bit concerned about motion sickness) with you from home. These items are available in the on board store, but expensive. Just a quick price comparison, Pringles are $3.50 a can on board. They are one dollar at home. Last but not least, for Heaven sake, set out your last change of clothing before setting your luggage outside your cabin door the final night. You wouldn't want to be one of those people mentioned at the debarkation talk who flys home in a bathrobe!!!
Bon Voyage!!! |

We took our first Carnival cruise 2 years ago to the Eastern Caribbean. It was the best vacation we ever had. It was nice not having to fix a bed or worry about making dinner...lol.
I also love the towel animals that were always on the bed when we returned from dinner.

1. I brought a highlighter from home to mark all the activities I didn't want to miss on the daily capers. (there is so much to do each day that I was afraid I'd miss something)
2. If you are going on an excursion that involves water bring a disposable underwater camera. The ones they sell on the island are very expensive.
3. On the island if you need to take a taxi make sure you and the driver agree on a price before you get in the taxi.
4. Free drinks at the Captain's party and Free Champagne at the art auctions.
5. Bring an alarm clock
6. If you have an interior room you may want a flashlight or nightlight because it gets really dark.
7. You can use your cell phone but check with your provider first on charges.
Have a great trip! |

You don't have to stay in your assigned seats for dinner. Just find another couple or single and hook up with them at their table. OR eat at one of the many other places on the ship instead of the main dinning room.
If you are looking to enjoy yourself in the pool areas stay on-board while everyone else is on a tour or shopping.
The entire ship is yours take the first day you are cruising to get your bearings and locate things you are interested in. I went to an art auction. Didn't win any but had a great time. Dance even if you can't because you don't know any of these people anyway. Just enjoy yourself. RELAX>. |

I was on the fascination for my cruise and I had a blast. The boat was pretty easy to get around and to find things. My only suggestions are: 1. Remember formal wear for the captains ball, it only lasts an hour or so but drinks are free. Grab a hand full when you see the waitress the first time because it might be the only time you see her. 2. Try to sneak some booze on with you in a mouthwash bottle or something. After 4 days my bar tab was $450, but I was drunk about the whole time. 3. The nude deck only had one girl up there and she wasn't following the rules. You can just skip going up there. |
