Getting a job on a cruise ship over the summer...?
I know this is probably a very late time to start thinking bout this, but I am a uni student on my summer holiday at the moment, and don't go back until the end of summer. I have been looking for a job, and was thinking that working on a cruise ship (as a waitress, in a shop, whatever) would b a really good job for the next 3 months! I've tried looking into it on the internet but haven't found alot...I know it is prob a stab in the dark but does anyone have any insight?
thankyou!
Cruise lines rarely hire for only 3 months. Usually the workers are onboard for 6-9 months, they probably wont let you work only for three. Plus, there is training involved for any type of emergency that could happen onboard so that will also take some time. I think you'd be better off working somewhere else, sorry.

most I've heard of hire for 8 months at a time, not 3

If you want to work on a ship then that is your live. You will be on the ship for about 9 months so that is not the best choice for you. The best summer job is one that is close and indoors.

Cruise ships are probably not your best bet due to your time constraints. If you are looking for a summer job that is out of the norm, check out Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH (they hire college kids from all over the country) and Mackinac Island (I think they do the same thing). I believe that both have student housing, etc. Not as fun as a cruise ship, but still can be a unique experience.
