Going on a Carnival Elation cruise and have questions! 10 points!?

I'm going on a 4 night cruise to Ensenada and Catalina Island.
1. On cruises are you always up and about or do you also spend a lot of time by yourself in you stateroom?
2. Are the shows/theater and Entertainment any good?
3. Are the Clubs offered for children fun and enjoyable?
4. Is there a big table at dinner and sit around with people you don't know?
5. Would brining a passport and drivers license be good for covering the documnets part or there is more you need?
6.Should we bring bottles of shampoo?
7. Do you need to pay for playing the arcade games?
8. Can you "buy a cruise on a cruise" and have it be a lot cheaper?

The time you spend in your stateroom should be limited to sleeping and showering. I spend as much time as possible up on the Lido Deck.
The shows in the big theatre are very good, but don't spend all your time there either.
Club O2 and Camp Carnival are very good for kids.
You do sit with people in the main dining room. You do have the option of requesting a new table assignment if you're less than satisfied.
Most definitely, bring your passport and photo ID. They are both required to go on the cruise. You are supposed to have your photo ID on your person while in port.
Shampoo and cream rinse are provided. Also are razors, hair dryers, and toothpaste samples.
The arcade games are coin operated.
While on board, you are able to make a down payment on a future cruise. Carnival introduced a new program in 2009 guaranteeing the lowest price. If the price of your future cruise were to go down anytime before you sail, you'll get a refund for the difference.
Be sure and sample the chocolate melting cake in the Monet Dining Room an any night.
You'll be able to have breakfast at Tiffany's, literally.
Bon Voyage!!!

okay! i have been on that EXACT cruise ship! and i must say it is a little run down......but it is still fun
1. There is always things going on, but you may not like the activities. At night there are a lot of dances and such, and during the daytime there is swimming (the water is pretty cold because it is filtered in from the ocean), shows sometimes, lots of food to eat, arcades, clubs and activites for kids, etc. At the beginning of each day they drop off a newsletter with all the activities going on that day.

2. There are some pretty good shows and some decent ones. Every night there is a performance. It all really depends on what you like for entertainment.

3. Yes they are. There are always activities going on and kids are separated by age so they are with kids their own age and they meet new people. There are rooms that they can go and hang out in too.

4. It really depends on how many people you are traveling with. I went with 4 people (including myself) and we had to sit with another family. They like to pack you in there! I would count on sitting with another family unless you have 6 or more people.

5.You could if you wanted to or if it makes you feel more secure. If you get hurt on the cruise while in Mexico and need to be airlifted to a hospital, then you do need a passport, but other than that, you do not.

6. Yes. It is like a hotel. They only give you those little 1 ounce bottles.

7. Yes. I cannot remember exactly if they had a machine to convert cash into coins or what. I would bring cash and coins for the arcade, just in case.

8. I don't know. sorry!

Hope this helped!

I was never alone so no you won't be alone some ships have great shows I like to comedy shows. For children during the day not every Cruise cater to the children's needs so look into that. Yes there are people you don't know at the table with you for dinner only. Yes having the proper documents are important better safe than sorry. If you want to your own products yes bring your own shampoo. On some ships yes you need to pay on others no. The last question is something you would have to find out on the website. There are A lot of packages you can purchase for future vacations that I do know

1. On cruises are you always up and about or do you also spend a lot of time by yourself in you stateroom? That's entirely your choice, there is plenty to do on the ship.
2. Are the shows/theater and Entertainment any good? They offer something for everyone.
3. Are the Clubs offered for children fun and enjoyable? The kids LOVE them!
4. Is there a big table at dinner and sit around with people you don't know? You pre-select the table size when you sign up for the cruise. If you choose an 8 person table you will sit with others you don't know at first. Seating is assigned, which means you will sit at the same table for the entire cruise.
5. Would brining a passport and drivers license be good for covering the documnets part or there is more you need? All you need is a Passport.
6.Should we bring bottles of shampoo? No, it's provided.
7. Do you need to pay for playing the arcade games? Yes you do.
8. Can you "buy a cruise on a cruise" and have it be a lot cheaper? The cruise itself will be cheaper and you'll also get a substantially reduced deposit.

My wife & I were on the Elation for our first cruise, a 7 day Eastern Caribbean which sailed out of Miami.
It was an incredable ship with a top notch crew.

1. That's totally up to you. There are ALOT of activities that are going on, as well as in cabin movies every 3-4 hours. You dont have to leave you cabin to have fun!
2. MOST of the shows are great, theres a couple i havent liked though.
3. Very fun for kids, they have programs for: 2-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-17 yrs old.
4. It depends, they have tables seating 2-10 people.
5. Yes, passport/birth certificate and drivers license.
6. There is shampoo in the shower, no conditioner though.
7. Yes, they are token operated.
8. Not sure, but theres usaully a raffle the last night for a free cruise.

1. you are pretty much always up and around...even on the days at sea, theres usually a bulliten of activities...for people who like card games or bingo or things like that, they have it...there is also the pool and sometimes a basketball court or something on the ships lido deck.

2. the shows are worth going to..sometimes they have themes and it is fun to follow. other times they mix it up with comedy..they usually have 2 shows..one early one and one late one (depending on if you eat dinner at the early seating or the late one)

3. im 15, so ive been to the teen clubs and my little cousin has been to the ones for kids around 6 years old.. i enjoyed meeting new people and the music was up to date and they did like game shows and stuff on the princess cruise that i went on. on royal carribean they did more dancing, etc. but overall, they are fun when you meet new people.

4.for dinner, if you are with a big group of your relatives they do not split you up. you are all together. but if it is only you and one or two other people you might get split up if you ask for the early dinner reservations. if you are eating at the late seating which is usually around 8pm, you have a better chance of getting your own table because not many people like the late seeing.

5.when you book your cruise with a travel agent, they'll tell you what you need usually...but im not really sure because my parents take care of that =) sorry

6. you can bring bottles of shampoo but they usually have a good amount. some cruises have big pumps of shampoo and conditioner and body wash...others have those small bottles like a hotel, but the maids give you more when you need it. so it is all preference on whether you like your own shampoo or not.

7. yeah, on the royal carribean ship i went on one time, you got a card, and parents can put on like $20 or however much they will allow their kids to use and the kids just have to scan the card on the machine they like to use. the parents can always put more money on too.

8. im not sure about this one.
