On the ship, you will not need an adaptor. Every cruise company based in the US has ships that are 110, which is the standard current in America.
However, while you are in any European country, you will need a transformer (also called a voltage converter) to convert the current from 110 to 220 . Since the voltage in England and all Europe is 220 you will need a transformer which is very different from an adaptor. Even with the adaptor for each country, your electric devices will not work without a transformer, and you will very likely blow them out. The 220 voltage is too powerful for our 110, which is why you need a transformer.
Also know that each European country uses their own set of plugs. England is the most different, but most have 2 round prongs, in different configurations for each country. Though the plug configurations may look the same, in some countries, the prongs are wider apart; you should get the info from a hardware store according to the countries you will visit. If you go to a major department store (or any store that specializes in travel needs) and check the luggage department, you might be able to find a kit that has a transformer and several adaptor plugs for Europe and other countries.
If you plan to use the electricity for any of your devices in Scandinavia and in Russia, you will need to get adaptors for each country. To save yourself a lot of trouble, plug in your electronic devices on the ship after each use to be sure they are fully charged for your next destination.
If you do not plan to use the outlets off the ship, you won't need converters or adaptors. If you are spending any time in England or any other European country before or after your cruise, it would be wise to get both the converter and adaptors.

Going to wikipedia and check power plugs. You'll get a look at plugs and outlets from around the world. |

Not sure where you're coming from. But if you're from the States - no you don't need an adapter. Just check the RCCL website to be sure. |
