Well you didn't say whether you are flying to NY or driving. And also you did not say which cruise port. Carnival and some other leave from the port in NY City on the east side of Manhatten. Here's a link:

But Royal Caribbean's cruise port, also used by Celebrity Cruise line, is in Bayonne New Jersey, across the river. Here's a link: http://www.cruiseliberty.com/
So the journey depends in part on which you will be using.
If you are flying to NY city, regardless of the cruise port you will use, you can ask the cruise line if they have what are called "transfers", essentially a two way bus ride between the airport and the cruise port. OR, you can simply take a taxi from the airport to either.
If you are cruising on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity out of Bayonne, NJ and you are driving up there is parking at the cruise port.
If you are cruising on Carnival or Norwegian or the other lines that use the Manhattan port you best bet is to take the Amtrak train to NY and then its a very short cab ride to the port from NY's Penn Station. |

Contact the cruise line and see if bus service is available. Some cruise lines offer this service. Its cheaper and the bus takes you right to the ship. |

Your best bet is to take a flight from BWI to New York and then take a taxi or limo to the cruiseport.
I would suggest getting to NY a day early, stay overnight and have a fun night in NY and then take a limo or taxi to the cruiseport the next day. That way you will not have a possibility of missing the ship due to bad weather or cancelled flights, etc. |
