I have sailed on the Mariner and its a great ship that you will have lots of fun on. First of all you should click on this link to a virtual view and tour of the Voyager class ships like the Mariner:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/multimedia...

It will help you see and understand some of what is on board and where it is. The ship has lots of free stuff for you to do.

At the front of the ship on one of deck 11 there is a full service gymnasium will all types of exercise equipment. Then there is a covered pool area next to that that has a pool and two hot tubs. Then you go further back and step outside and there are two pools and 4 hot tubs with lounge chairs and bar service.

Then toward the back of the ship on deck 12 is the kids area called Adventure Ocean, the Video Arcade, and the Teen Disco. The teen disco is open until 2:00AM every night and you will meet other teens and hang out there all you want. It has music and food like burgers and dogs.

Then on deck 13 is the Rock Climbing wall, the basketball court, the in-line roller skating track, a mini-golf course, and Johnny Rockets. So if you like these type activities the back of the ship up top is the place to go.

When you first board the ship the place to go to get something to eat (lunch will be ready) is the Windjammer Cafe which is on deck 11.

The ship has a pedestrian mall down its center and there is a place to shop and get food 24/7, including hot pizza. The pizza is available 24/7.

The ship also has an internet cafe on deck 8, and a library on deck 9. The ice skating rink is on deck 3 in the center of the ship; so you can go ice skate too. There will be a free ice show in that room that you should not miss.

So the ship has a lot for your to do and see.

Don't worry about hurricanes because if the weather is bad the ship's captain will steer away from it and go to a different port stop.

I just got back from a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Caribbean. It was a load of fun. Everybody was having a blast and enjoying the sun. The beaches were extremely nice. As for the ship, it was very big, the staff was friendly like always, and the service was amazing. The food was good and the itineraries were active.

As for the children, Royal Caribbean is well known for it being a family-oriented cruise line. They have a very good children program where they have different itineraries for kids of different age groups. I consistently saw many groups of children who just met and became friends around the ship. They were having a blast and they even have their own "Headquarters," where they can play video games, watch TV, or just hang out.

You won't be disappointed. I was extremely sad the day it ended, so you should be extremely excited!

Not actually been on one of their cruises....my brother-in-law is actually head of security for Royal Carribean ( having previously been First Officer on a couple of their ships) and has regularly taken his two young sons on these liners....and they always seem to have a fabulous time! there is so much to do on these ships these days, I can't think that they would be bored for one moment!! Have a great time!!!
