We've been on 4 cruises so far, 3 with Carnival. All 7 or 8 nights. The ships are larger than in the past, so motion sickness is almost unheard of. And yes, it is extremely fun. Carnival is very kid friendly. They have Camp Carnival, Club 2o, and all ships have a water slide for all ages. Be sure to try the chocolate melting cake in the main dining room. It's awesome!! Also, the kids will enjoy Funship Freddy. If you don't know what that is, YouTube it.

I need a Vacation. =)
Carnival was horrible. I have been on 10 cruises... and 8 of them were Norwegian. I have been on the dawn 5 times.. and i really really really LOVED IT! everything about the ship was beautiful.. wait till u see the lobby! The resturants were excellent, the service is great.. and the staff will litterely kiss your butt! They are all so nice.. and they really work hard to make sure you enjoy your cruise. Room service was so quick! i always favored room service lol.. u can order unlimited food.. 24/7.. for free. The garden cafe was open until late at night.. its a buffet that has everything. They have a club where young people our age can go hang out. they even have a 50s and 60s club for the old timers. The shows..... dont miss any of them! they are better then broadway shoes and are beautiful. I love the fact that its freestyle so u can go to dinner at anytime u want.. 4 PM.. 5 PM.. 9 PM.. it doesnt matter at all. I just got back on October 5th by the way. We went to Bermuda. It was amazing... but the ship itself is just great. I went on Carnival and Royal Carribean. Carnival SUCKED. it was old.. stinky.. and the staff was so rude. Royal Carribean was good.. but it wasnt freestyle. So you have to be at dinner at whatever time they want u to go, or ur not eating. Norwegian is not like that at all.Plus, like u said, the ship was very kid friendly and they have a teen night club and everything.. my 15 year old cuzin loved it! Im returning to the Norwegian Dawn August 9. 2009.. I cant wait!

I have been on a carnival cruise and I did not like it. I was young but I still didn't like it. The only time I had fun was on the excursions and anytime spent off of the ship. When we go in the Gulf of Mexico the ship was rocking so bad my whole family got ill. The three of us had to buy those sea sick wrist bands.(We never get sea sick btw) As for the kids thing...this is my personal story.

I was about 9 years old and I did a group activity with the other kids as a part of the childrens program. They sent us on a scavenger hunt all over the ship unchaperoned. Anything could have happened to us! My parents were furious and we never went on another Carnival cruise after that. The food was ok and the service was ok. But we definitely prefer Royal Caribbean.

I've been on two carnival cruises and it was a lot of fun. No, I didn't get seasick. Matter of fact, I found the sea soothing and yes it's very kid friendly. You can go to www.cruisecritic.com and get a lot of information. Good Luck!

these ships are good for adults not anyone from 12-17
there also good for kids about 3-9
they do have good food
i didnt like it at all honestly the only time i had fun was off the ship and when i was making up my own fun with the friends i met on there, i never want to go on another one again Royal carribean is much better, i was with 19 people and i little more than half them got sick and my whole family are boaters we never get sea sick

It's a great cruise line. There is plenty for people of all ages to do on the 3 and 4 day Mexican cruises. If you think you may get seasick, bring some Dramamine. I've found great cruise deals on SpinCityTravel.com under the Cruise Tab.
