Going on a boat, ship. You're best bet is to get a cabin nearest the centre of the ship, near the water line.
Less rocking motion. |

Some tips: Get on a newer ship that has stabilization systems and get an interior stateroom near the middle of the ship.
This and medication and you will be fine. |

there's something you can get on board that is rubbed behind the ears and it works. Also ginger is good, so ginger tea or ginger drinks etc |

There are different types of travel sickness. A person who easily gets car sick might not get air sick or sea sick. So if you're prone to get sick in a car or a bus, maybe go to a chemist for travel sickness pills just to be safe, but you're likely to not need them. Biggest benefit of being on sea as opposed to in a car or airplane is the fresh air - I get unwell on buses if I have to be in them for too long because they're so stuffy, but I haven't yet had a problem in open air. |

Yeah! I get travel sick sometimes, but i find cruises and boats in general ok. If you want, you can get tight wristbands which controll the pressure in your wrist which help with travel and sea sickness. Some people say they just make you feel like they work, but the pressure does help really. |

I suffer from travel sickness, I've been on many boats and havn't seemed to be effected that badly or at all. They have not been cruises but ferries, speedboats, barges etc.
thinking of taking a cruise? lol. goodluck :) |

Of course - the big modern cruise ships in tropical places like the Caribbean rock so little you would hardly ever notice it. |

Yes, on a large ship you don't rock the way you do on a small boat. You hardly know you are moving. If you get into rough waters or high winds that is different. Their are things you can do and/or take by mouth to keep motion sickness at bay. |

Yea, it's just cars, buses, trains etc that do it for me :/
You might be different though..Ask your doctor or pharmacist for anything to help you just incase :) |

I went on an overnight cruise ship from Helsinki down through Norway and was fine.
Check out whether the route of the ship is known for being choppy. We used to have the option of a free trip to Spain on a P & O ship years ago, but I never went because I knew the Bay of Biscay made loads of people sick! |

Ask your MD for "Transderm Scop" (pronounced Trans-Derm Scope), it's the little patch that you place behind your ear 24 hours before you depart, and delivers a slow and stead rate of medication to soothe the inner ear. It is replaced every third day. You will see them on passengers every where.
They work. |

I've been on several cruises. I always found the best way to prevent motion sickness is to stay drunk the entire time. You won't know if the ship is moving or not. Or, if you did you wouldn't care. |
