The cruise lines, Carnival included all have professional wedding coordinators on staff to work with you. You will be married either on board by local clergy or magistrate in the ship's home port before the ship sails or if you wish they can make arrangements for you to be married at certain ports of call. St. Thomas US VI is one such port - there are many others also.
In any event the ship's captain cannot legally marry you and thus you have to be married by clergy or a magistrate. Many ships now have dedicated wedding chapels for just this purpose. The cruise line will make all the arrangements and can also throw a reception complete with cake, food, bar service and photos for your family and friends in one of the ship's public rooms. As you note above, most lines have a selection of packages available. Depending on the cruise line's policies, they may or may not allow family and friends to attend the ceremony if they won't be accompanying you on the cruise - again work with your travel agent. Some allow family and limit friends ect.
Your travel agent can help with your cruise travel plans and will put you in touch with the cruise line's wedding professional. This is a great less costly alternative to a traditional wedding. |
