Has anyone been on Princess Cruise Lines, and how did you like it? Is Royal Caribbean better?

Royal Caribbean and Princess are for two completely different types of people. Royal Caribbean is more for families, people wanting to have a good time, etc. But the line is mostly for younger people. On the other hand, Princess tends to be more for older couples, around retirement age, it is a little more upscale, food is a little better, etc.

You can pretty much decide what you want to do on your vacation and then that will show you which line is going to be the best for you. I don't think it is so much that Princess isn't as good as Royal Caribbean, because I actually feel that Princess is a little better with food, service, luxury feel, etc. But, if you have young kids you want to take, Princess isn't going to be as good as Royal Caribbean, it just depends what you need.

That being said, it also depends on which boats you are looking at. As with most lines, I think Royal Caribbean may have some boats that are a little nicer than Princess, but Princess has some really great boats as well.

I think the best thing to do is compare the ships you are looking at to decide which is best for you:

Hope this helps!

I'm booked for a Princess cruise in September. I went on Royal Caribbean last year, and I hated it. We almost got attacked in Haiti, and the cruise had no security (or any RC employee on the island at all). They have an assortment of safety hazards, and when I went to complain to the purser, they ignored me. It's a good scam. I was happy with Carnival, and hopefully I'll be happy with Princess.

I went 2 years ago cruising the Mediterranean on board Star Princess, it was my honey moon and it was definitely the greatest adventure. The ship is so big and you will find a lot of things to do on board and the food was great. shore excursions were very interesting. Overall I loved it and if I have a chance soon I will go again. I didn't go on board a Royal Caribbean before.
