I have been to Hawaii about 5 times but not on a cruise in Hawaii. I suggest flying there and staying on land rather than a cruise. You will have more time to see things and enjoy the beaches. You can probably fly there for between $600 and $800 each, which you would have to pay anyway if you wnt on a cruise. You can get rooms in first class beach hotels for about $225 to $250 a night, which is about the cost of a 7 day cruise ticket. If you shop you can get rooms for less; or if you stay in a hotel a few blocks from the beach.

You can even arrange your flights to cover two islands, like Oahu and Maui and then take a day tour to another island. That's what we did on our last trip. Contrary to popular belief, you can eat for less in HAwaii if you stay away from hotel restaurants. The islands have McDonalds and Dennys and TGI Fridays, Chiles and other such restaurants where meals are reasonable.

I think you will enjoy your trip more on land than on seas and this is coming from someone who loves cruises and has done more than a dozen cruising, including a couple this year. When I go i use Roberts for island day tours and have not had any problems with them.

I've not been on a cruise, but I did stay in Maui for a week last year and it was the most gorgeous place I've ever seen. I definitely recommend doing anything related to Hawaii, you won't regret it!

Hawaii cruises are great. I like doing the cruises that go to all the islands, you get to see a lot that way. The only reason I would consider not doing a cruise, is if there is a particular island you are wanting to spend your whole vacation at. Just remember, if you go on a cruise you have very limited time on the islands. Generally about a half day. So, if you are wanting to do a lot of sightseeing or just go to one area you may just want to do a resort stay.

But, I love cruising I and I think it is the best way to learn about new places. Then, if you like the cruise, you can either do that the next time, or stay at some resorts for a longer period of time. It is a great way to explore before spending your whole vacation.

I've been on 2 Hawaiian cruises total(as a traveller and as Owner of a Travel Agency). I thought they were very nice, in the respect that you get to view so many dififerent things, once they stop at a certain port(of which there are several). The ships were great to be sure, but it is the side trips that you go on that will make or break your cruise.

You get to see certain volcanoes, experience the Hawaiian culture(by all means do so), explore the wonderful flora/fauna that the Islands have to offer. And of course if time allows, partake in an authentic Hawaiian luau.

But Hawaiian cruises are highly recommended. If you plan to stay onboard the ship, then a Hawaiian cruise is not recommended. Should you decide to go on a Hawaiian cruise, do not hesitate to either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or contact me through Yahoo Messenger with what you have in mind, and I will ensure that you and your husband get the cruise that you want and deserve.
