We have. Our last one started on Jan 2 and went to Cozumel,Belize, Grand Caymon, Jamaica.
Any how, the water was just beautiful. The weather was still pretty hot.
Don't worry about the water temp. Jump right in!

Your first answer about Florida, well Florida is in the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.
The Carribean is farther south. Much farther.

More importantly the hurricanes have gone.

I went on a cruise to the bahamas/caribbean in decemeber 2 years ago, and it was a great vacation. The temp varied from 74-84 while there during the day. I found the water was warm enough to swim in, however I come from Canada so in the dead of winter my warm may not be your warm.

I eagerly went swimming in the ocean and stayed out as long as I possibly could and it was wonderfully hot on the beach despite it being quite windy on that particular day.

Happy cruising!

In response to newjersey2112-

Who pissed in your fruit loops today?

Its a plausible question, while the ambient temperature during the day is around 82 degrees at that lattitude, at night, it can easily drop down to the 60's. If you know anything about thermodynamics, the heat specificity of water is very high, meaning that its is easy to cool it down and very hard to heat it back up resulting in a moderately chilly water temp during the day.

Be nice....people are genuinely looking for help here. We dont need your inability to control your anger and immaturity scaring yahooers away.

cherry♥blossoms
no but from what i have herd is that the water is a bit too cold to swim in.

Generally no. I swim in south Florida oceans year round. I would compare swimming in a south Florida ocean in February to swimming in a Virginia lake in late May. Pretty freaking cold at first, but you get used to it.

In December? Still pretty warm/cool. Not unbearable and nice once you are in for a few..
