I have been on the Dawn and It is one nice ship. The only ship that I did not like much was the Princess regal. It was dated and I didn't like the swimming pool. It has been retired now. All of Princess ships have similarities such as 24 hour buffet, 1 or 2 theaters (the dawn has 2). regular restaurants and specialty restaurants, plus lots of art and art auctions and many things to do during your sea days. Read your Princess patter before going to bed or first thing in the morning. That way you can know what is going on for the day. Enjoy your cruise. |

If you can get hold of a publication by the Berlitz travel publishers, called "Ocean Cruising & Cruise Ships" by Douglas Ward who is reckoned to be the World's foremost authority on cruising, you will be able to read up all about the Carnival Corporation and Princess Line in particular
Try your local library. It will tell you what to expect on any Cruise ship afloat and what to expect on board. For future reference, you will also know which ones to avoid! |

I went on the Sea Princess so I guess the policies are the same.
Many dining rooms,
1.buffet dining room,
2.formal night (you must be in formal wear to enter the dining room especially for men),
3.you can use the buffet if you don't want to go the formal dining room
you can choose when you want to eat since there are 2 sittings
4.there is also 'anytime dining' (the best)
5.all meals are free except in the 'Steak House'
6.You have to pay for all drinks except juice at breakfast
bear in mind that if you can afford it then these things might not be expensive for you but for me it was.
7.You will be asked many times to have your pic taken in every port, formal nights etc.
8.there are very expensive (for me) to PURCHASE but there is nothing wrong in getting them TAKEN there is no charge for that
9.Ship excursions can be very expensive but you can go outside and bargain with the taxi drivers at least that was in the Caribbean |
