ooh i went on that ship too alaska last july!
it was awesome! dont listen too the other people.
in my opninion, the crew members were nice && friendly
and the food was delicious! and NCL is one of the best cruise lines there is! im even going on another cruise with them too hawaii!

Yes cruises are fun, and NCL ships are nice because you don't have to go to the formal dining room to get a good meal. We went to Hawaii and everything on the ship was nice. Be prepared to check your luggage when you get to the pier, it will be delivered to your room that evening. I wish I had packed a change of clothes in my carry on so I could freshen up before my luggage was delivered.

I was on the Norwegian Star to the Mexican Riviera in October 2005. I wrote a very long review (about 19 typed pages). Here is a link to the review if you want to read it ...

I've been on the Norwegian Dream to the Caribbean. It is an older ship, not so spiffy and polished, but nice nevertheless. They have freestyle dining, which means you don't eat at any particular time or place. A lot of people prefer this. However, I found that I did not like it as well as assigned dining. When you are assigned a dining room and a time, you get the same waiter....hence better dining room service. Also, your dinner partners become friends for the cruise...and maybe longer.
December is a great time to go to Mexico....good weather, not too hot or cold.

I was on the Star in May to Alaska. I would not recommend NCL to anyone. The crew members are rude. They automatically take $10 per day off of your sea account for tips, so none of the crew members, waiters, etc., feel as though they have to go out of their way to accomodate you. The food on the ship was not good. We would not even eat in the buffet - it was dirty and horrible.
Change cruise lines - go on Royal or Princess. Stay far away from NCL.
