Has anyone ever been on back to back cruises or 14 day cruise?

My fiance & I have booked back to back Carnival cruises for our honeymoon in May. It's on the Carnival Glory. First trip is nassau, bahamas; st thomas; and st maarten. Second one is Cozumel, Mexico; Belize; Costa Maya, Mexico; and Nassau again. I've done 7 day cruises twice and really enjoyed it. I'm just wondering if anyone has ever done back to back cruises? Or a 14 day cruises? Did you enjoy it? Was it too much? A few people we talked to went on 10 day cruises and said it was too long. I didn't think that was possible on a vacation! haha. But I'm just wondering if we should still keep it the same or cancel one of them.
Additional Details
I've been on two Carnival cruises.. and loved them both. Everyone we know who has done Carnival and Royal Caribbean preferred Carnival. I've heard bad things about Royal Caribbean.. but to each his own.

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
I have never done back to back but have been on 14 and 15 day cruises and in fact just got back from a 15 day cruise to/from Hawaii. I/we love cruises and so being on the ship for 14 or 15 days is no problem for us. A few years ago we did a 14 day cruise to the Baltic and we had a port stop about every day, with a few exceptions. We enjoyed having something new and different to do each day that we were not at sea, and then enjoyed the at sea days to just rest up and relax.

The biggest problem we have with 14/15 day cruises is packing enough clothes for two weeks, especially when you know you may need two sets of clothes for many days. Since you are going on a Carnival ship that may not be a problem because your ship will likely have a self service laundry. It will for sure have laundry service but they will charge by the item and its very expensive.

Your two back to backs will take you to the eastern and western Caribbean and you will see different things each stop, except the two Nassau stops. I say do it and enjoy it.

I did a 29 day cruise last year from Australia to Los Angeles. It was very cool. I have also heard of older people that actually live on a ship for like 6 months at a time. I was told it was cheaper to live on a ship then in most retirement places. My next cruise in a little over a week is a 14 day cruise. You know, I think 7 days is not long enough. Fact is, most of my cruises are a minimum of 10 days. So, I so hope you have a wonderful cruise, but don't get sunburned.

My husband and I loved our 10 day cruise. We are now looking into a 14 day. I would only choose a back to back with alternating itineraries. So I think you made a good choice.

The first cruise I went on was a 14 day cruise. It was fantastic, because you could really settle into the ship. I would definately reccomend it.

always do a back to back cruise as i live in ireland and if we come this far we want a long stay the only thing i would say is the entertainment and the menu are repeated on the second cruise but who cares its a great holiday

SteamShip N
done a back to back.. my advise is take it easy.. leave some activities for the second week take the first week relaxind and then do everything else on the second week and no we had a great time and it was to short not to long!

RyGuy
Dont worry about packing extra clothes...most people forget that most ships have laundry mats!!! On everdy deck.

first, I gotta ask, what the heck made you pick carnival cruise? OMG they are the worst! If you booked with a travel agent, get your money back and rebook with a good cruiseline, try to change for at least one of them. I would travel on Royal Carib before CArnifal, I mean, OMG! Honey, get your money back, on a good cruiseline, you could book a month and not be sorry! Honest !

I haven't done back-to-back, but my mother did once, and really enjoyed it! She did not change ships, which I understand is easier since you can keep the same cabin (assuming you paid for the same level of accommodation) and not have to pack/unpack. The day when the first cruise ended and the second one began she was in Ft. Lauderdale, and she left the ship in the morning and mailed various things home, did a bit of shopping, and spent some time walking on the beach. When she returned to the ship she didn't have to go through long lines at all, got back on the ship, got a quick lunch, and spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. The only downside, according to her, was having to go through a second safety drill.

I have been on 2 "long" cruises, and had a lovely time on each! The first was a 14 day run from New York to LA via the Panama Canal on the QE2. It was the first leg of the World Cruise. The second, also on the QE2, was 16 days from Southampton and through the Mediterranean and then back to Southampton. We had stops in Lisbon, Malaga, Palermo, Alexandria, Kusadasi, Athens, and Rome. The Alexandria stop was an overnight, so I took a rather glamorous shore excursion, which was an overnight in a very fancy hotel in Cairo right on the Nile, with plenty of time in the museum, the evening Sound and Light Show at the pyramids, and then sunrise at the pyramids before returning to Alexandria.

About packing, you will want to know whether there is a laundromat on board that you can use. If so, use it! If not, you will need to pack huge amounts -- and pay the airlines for carrying it all for you! -- or have your laundry done on the ship, which isn't free but which works just fine. If it were me, I'd just go ahead and pay the ship to do the laundry and not wrestle with too much luggage.

As to getting bored or tired of the trips -- NO! They were great, and I wouldn't hesitate to go again for even more time. One thing I do with a trip, though, is to take some needlework with me for quiet afternoons at sea. I generally spend mornings in the sun, so some needlework keeps me away from sunburns and keeps me out of the casino! If you are reading a book people will leave you alone, but if you have a bit of needlework people will stop to say hello, see what your're doing, and sometimes stop a while just to get acquainted.

Finally, there is lots to do on a ship!

HAVE FUN!
