Has anyone packed hard liquor to take on board? |
My hubbie drinks a fair amount of Jack Daniel's. This can get pretty pricey on board. Has anyone put hard liquor in their luggage and got caught?? What would the penalty be? I know that you can bring a bottle of wine per person. We will buy this in Miami. How about a wine opener. We don't want to pay the $14 corkage fee to drink it in the dining room. Should we pack one or will our cabin keeper have one that we can use?? Additional Details I am confused by some answers, should I put it in with checked baggage or in my carry on. I know that you can bring wine, should I just carry that on in the bag that I bought it? I don't want a red wine bottle and breaking all over my clothes. Keep the hard liquor in carry on or check baggage? and wine just in the bag that I bought it?? Thanks. Just trying to get as much alcohol on board that I can. |

put it in your checked bags.. they Will find it in your carry on ..I like to put it (J.D.) in soda bottles already mixed. saves on the price of sodas and real easy to just pour and drink. any wine you want to bring on and drink in the dinning room you will have to pay a corkage fee.. |

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
 |
I use flasks that are pint sized and pack them with my toiletries. Or you can buy a bunch of miniatures and pack them with toiletries, maybe put a few bottles inside his shoes so they don't get broken. I pack my flasks in zip lock bags too so that if they spill the baggie catches it.
Works for me |

Make sure you check the rules of your cruise line before bringing on alcohol. I know that on Royal Caribbean bringing on alcohol is prohibited, and if found, they will confiscate it until the end of the cruise.
That being said, when we take alcohol on a ship we usually put it in a ziplock bag, wrap it in a towel and in our carry-on luggage. You never know when your luggage will arrive to your room, and I've seen how hard they throw the bags around. |

I end up spenden about 500 on liquor alone and thats with pre partin..... goood lucck and half a good trip!!!!! |

you can bring your own opener, but you will have to pay the $14 no matter what if you want to drink it in the dining room. As far as any other alcohol, the only thing that you have to worry about is it breaking in your suitcase. Me and my friends each put a 12 pack of beer in our suit case, and I had a small bottle of Bacardi. Just make sure you double bag it, and customs cant do anything about it. The worst that could happen is if you get caught they could confiscate it. |

Alcohol? On a cruise ship? You must not like to pay $8 a drink... neither do I! I licked this problem on my second cruise and i'm going on my 19th next week. Take seperate carry on suitcase onto the ship when you board initially, and put it thru the scanner and carry it with you to your cabin. Wrap bottles in towels and carry beer in cans. They will not confiscate alcohol when initially boarding, however at ports you visit, they will, and return it to you when you depart the ship. After you go to your cabin and are "discovering" the ship for the first time, pick up empty glasses at the empty bars and bring them back to your room, then fill them up and bring them to dinner. Remember to bring our own corkscrew! Hope this helps |
