Has anyone recently sailed on the Carnival Inspiration out of Tampa and brought their own alcohol? ? |
I have sailed 7 times out of Port Canaveral through Royal Caribbean and Disney and never had a problem sneaking alcohol in my checked luggage. However, I've read many different things about the Tampa port and wanted advice from someone who has recently done it. Were you successful? Did you get caught and if so, could you still sail? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks |

I just wrap it in bubble wrap, stick it with the shampoos and what not and sail on thru....10 cruises and have never had an issue, including Tampa |

They will let you bring wine in your suit case. I empty the wine out and I put Tequilla in the bottle instead. Some of the lines will let you bring one bottle on some will let you bring 2 aboard. I always bring 2 and have not had a problem yet. On a couple of the ships they did charge me a corking fee and made me have them open it in the resturant. |

I've sailed a few times out of Tampa, but always on Holland America. I brought alcohol every time - and I always brought it in water bottles and mouth wash bottles. The last time was 18 months. The port was a mad house while we waited to board - I really can't imagine that they would have time to search every ones bags. Be subtle and you shouldn't have a problem. |
