cruises can be very enjoyable, and yes you could have a very romantic time on one if you wanted to go on your honeymoon.
but, as people have said its not for everyone. I would have a nicer cabin than an inside if i could. I would try one of the smaller ships(having less passengers rather than more) and i would read on cruisecritic.com about cruises and cruising before booking anything.
i would also use a good travel agent specializing in cruises and possibly wedding planning on cruise ships. Tell them honestly what you expect from your vacation and they can help you plan it.

best wishes on your upcoming celebrations and cruise.

They are very generic and after a few days all the kids get comfortable and you can't go anywhere with out getting run over by all of them.

You should at least get some information about trips to Fiji before you book. The Fiji Islands will blow your mind and they are a lot cheaper when compared to other watered down cookie cutter resorts.

Here are some great Honeymoon Ideas in Fiji All Under $1,000
Fiji is a great place to go with exotic sights and is pure Paradise.

Have you been on a cruise ship? yes

Do you enjoy cruises? yes, i love them! i have only done it twice, but if i could do it every month, i would. we keep meaning to do one, but we are waiting for our two year old to get older, so she can enjoy it and remember it...plus, we are afraid it will be too difficult to go with her at her age. we wont fully enjoy ourselves.

Do you think they're dangerous? no, not really. i mean, you could trip and fall down a flight of stairs, or get a nasty stomach bug. but you can do these things at home. so i am gonna go with no.

Worth the money? oh god yes. i love to eat, so free food all day long = HEAVEN LOL

Good place to have a honeymoon? thats what we did for our honeymoon, and we had a great time.

Can you recommend a cruise line or destination for a honeymoon? we did royal caribbean for our honeymoon. we went to cozumel. but i have heard wonderful things abotu belize city.

Thanks.... you're welcome

Cruising is actually cheaper then doing a vacation on land. A survey has shown this to be true. I have been on 8 cruises and #9 is coming real soon, so it's obvious that I love cruising. I find it far more relaxing then land vacations because there is no driving, no trying to figure out where to eat and everything is taken care of for you. As far as safety goes, I find them about the safest way to vacation. Again no worries about cars which are really dangerous. I haven't honeymooned on a cruise, but we did renew our vows. That was great because everything was taken care of by the staff, including the champagne and flowers. My favorite destination so far was to Alaska, but in my opinion anywhere you go on a cruise is going to be great.

I love cruises, and I went to the Eastern Caribbean from New York in December, 2007.. It was about 25 degrees in New York. The Caribbean was around 85 degrees every day, and clear.. We stopped at about 5 Islands for a day. There was so much to do, I didn't even get to see the whole ship.!! (14 decks..13 restaurants..3 balcony theatre.) Lots of fun, things to do..and I REALLY liked Norweigan Cruise Line.. BECAUSE it is freestyle.!! Eat when you want..dress like you want....Do what you want.. A blast...Casino, bars, stores, pools, jacuzzis, barbecues at night on the top deck, contests, all kinds of snacks as you walk around. Classy.. Always ice cream and drinks available by the pools, good service. Supervised areas for children with lots to do.

I LOVE cruises, I believe they are definitely worth the money, and I think it is an excellent idea for a honeymoon. I went on a carnival cruise when I was 13 with my family, and I really enjoyed it! My fiance & I went on carnival again in 2005, and we will be going on back to back carnival cruises in may for our honeymoon. They aren't dangerous as long as you take care of yourself. Usually dangerous things happen when people drink WAY too much and do stupid things.

I think they are worth the money, because it includes all your meals and also your entertainment. I would definitely recommend carnival. I've heard Royal Caribbean has awful food and they do not have good entertainment.

I know someone said they hate cruises, but all the bad things they were saying I've never experienced any of those things. It barely takes any time at all to get off the ship. And there are usually a TON of taxi's waiting at the port. You can easily jump in a taxi and have them take you to a beach. And as for meals.. you can eat ANY TIME you want ANYTHING you want. You can order room service any time. And there are many places to eat on the ship that are open all night. You don't even have to eat in the dining room, but they offer a few different dinner times in the dining room.. and if you are off the ship during your dining time you can eat at a different dining time if you want.

As for the sandal's resorts.. I know a few couples who have gone and said it was terrible. I like cruises because you can see a number of different places.. you don't have to worry about driving anywhere... and it's just very relaxing and fun.

For the room.. if you go with an inside cabin.. yes it's a little on the small side.. but you are barely in your room! Just to sleep.. but for your honeymoon you may want to go with a balcony room.. it's larger and you have a private balcony!! good luck!

Sorry, but i personall hate cruises. You have to wait in line to get off the ship, they usually only drop you off at shopping districts (not beaches), the shows are stupid, the pool is overcrowded, and i missed most of my meals b/c we were designated a time to eat and we werent on the boat at that time!
The worst part is the room....and you definetly want a nice room for your honeymoon! They are the size of a closet. If you go on a cruise make sure you pay extra for a larger room with a balcony.

I like GOING to an island and staying there. The rooms are nicer, your days are relaxed, you have just as many excursions to choose from, the meals AND the drinks are included at All-Inclusive Resorts, and the pools and beaches arent crowded.

Sandals Grand, ST. Lucia is great!!!! Romantic, Fun, Relaxing, Great Food and drinks!

Originally refused to go on one as I knew I would be bored, fed up, too many people together etc. Wife forced me on....Princess cruise Vancouver to Alaska - hooked after that!
Been on about 20 cruises now.

Don't like the giant ships. They are surprisingly spacious and not crowded - until you have a slight problem and then it instantly becomes an ovecrowded disaster.
Getting on/off can be a crowded nightmare! Would not go on the new BIG ships.

Gravitated down to the smaller adventure/expedition ships now. No shows/casinos/shopping/overpriced shore excursions etc. but the best entertainment - raw nature!
Floating gin palaces have lost their allure, Antarctica and remote island places like Galapagos are much more interesting and with fewer people you really can do what the majority want!
Now mainly go on 100 people or less ships. They are more expensive but the 2 best cruises we have ever done were on tiny 12 people ships!

Dangerous - no.
Worth the money - yes
Honeymoon place - Doesn't really apply as the "places" change every day!
Recommend a line - All big lines very similar - personally after bad experience would never go on NCL again!
The larger ships have very efficient stabilisers, even rough seas hardly move them. Much more fun however to be in a 100 person ship coming back from South Georgia in the south Atlantic going up and down 40ft in a force 11 gale! The stabilisers could not be used as we were in BIG iceberg alley and the sea was coverered with smaller broken ice growlers which could wreck the fins. After the storm we were so lucky to see a pod of about 20 humpback whales and spend 2 hours just drifting along with them, everyone's dinner was left to go cold that night!

Try a cruise - you will either love it or hate it. If you are young and adventurous after your honeymoon next time try the a small ship.....you will be hooked!

I have cruised a number of times on both Royal Caribbean and Princess. It is great. The ships are safe and you got a lot for the money. All meals are included. You have to paye extra for alcoholic beverages but nothing else. I recommend the Caribbean cruises. Take a Southern Caribbean out of San Juan on either cruise line and you will love it. Check out the itinerary of islands. Try for a cruise that goes to St. Thomas, Barbados and St. Lucia. Those are my favorite islands.

my hubby and have gone on carnival and we also have gone on ncl ,both which we enjoyed for different reasons. they have many things to them that make them fun depending on what type of things you like to do. the entermant is basically the same, such as bing, shows and going in pools or the hot tubs. you have to check out the websites and compare for your self. the boat will rock some no matter what ship you sail on, the people will be friendly on the ships no matter what and if you sit around and do nothing while on the boat you will miss out so no matter what ship you go on there are things to do. you have to know what each offers and go and make the best of it.
