Have you ever been on a cruise at age 18?

My friends and I would like to take a cruise this summer. Two of us are 17, and one is 18.

I found this list of cruise ships that would allow us aboard (must want us to be 21 or have a 25 year old guardian):American West Steamboat Company (Majestic America), Cruise West, Cunard, Delta Queen (Majestic America), Fred. Olsen Cruise Line, Oceania, Orient Lines, P&O Cruises, Peter Deilmann, Regent (Radisson) Seven Seas Cruises, SeaDream, Star Clippers, and Uniworld.

Which cruise line is best for OUR age?

We wish carvial was on the list, becuase all of their food is free. :*(
Additional Details
I have been on a cruise as well, but always with family. I ment has anyone gone at 18 by themselves.

I'm assuming you found that list on vacationstogo.com - or on one of the questions here on Answers (it's a cut and past from vacationstogo). Most of those cruises are very expensive, very far away, or regional. If you go on the vacations to go ticker page and pull of cruises under each of those cruise lines, you'll see the type of cruise that it is, the type of ship that it is, and what area they cover.

You don't really say where your home base is or if you are on a budget. I would be more concerned about which cruise line will be easily cruised rather than which one will be more fun. They should all be fun, but they may not all be attainable.

Cruise West: River cruise out of Seattle / Portland / Cabo San Lucas - average prices around $3000 per person

Cunard: East coast of US/Canada out of New York & transatlantic & Europe - Prices vary dramatically

Fred. Olsen - Depart out of London & Edinburgh - average 7 day about $1500 per person

You'll want to do your own searches, but if money isn't an option, I say fly to Europe and take a P&O cruise. If money is an option, The Cunard east coast tour isn't a bad price, and it's a really cool ship (Queen Mary 2)

FYI - food is free on all cruise lines as far as I know. Maybe some of the smaller ones it isn't, but it generally comes standard with the room.

Honestly, if you could get an older sister / cousin / friend to go with you, it would open up the doors a bit. You could take Carnival or any of the main ones. Some require a 25 year old, some require a 21 year old. It would be cheaper and more attainable I think if you could find someone to go with you. If not, you'll need to do some standard research into each of the cruise lines you've listed to find out if any of them will work with your budget.

I've been going on cruises a long time....and all the major cruise lines require that you have to have AT LEAST one person in the stateroom 21 or older.
that's includes...royal caribbean, carnival, princess, norwegian etc.

One perk that we found was..we have a family of 5, our parents would get one stateroom and the cruise ship would let me and my siblings have our own stateroom since we all couldn't fit in one. we were all under 18 at the time. so they do twist the rules depending on the situation. but you defiantly need at least one person 21 and up traveling with you...that doesn't mean they HAVE to be in the same room tho.
