I virtually did. I went on one cruise with my 2nd cousin--a guy who is within a month of the same age as me. He stayed in the sports bar the entire time watching ESPN and didn't even make it to dinner some nights.

It was virtually like being alone. I never saw him. He didn't go into the sun at all so everything I did, I did by myself. I thought it was boring. It seemed to me like all this stuff was stuff I wanted to share with someone. I laid out and if I had a comment to make, there was no one to make it to. I went to lunch and to some event in the afternoon by myself. After dinner I went to the club to dance by myself and if some guy was too forward there was no one to pass off hand signals with. Shore excursions by yourself were the worst.

I know some people do singles cruises and absolutely love it. They love being by themselves and while in general I like to be by myself at work all day and I like quality time by myself when I lived with my best friend, on vacation I just wanted someone to share it with. There were a lot of romantic couples and if I could have just had a girlfriend to laugh with about how mushy they were, it wouldn't have seemed lonely.

I've traveled by myself a lot though. I went to Poland by myself and did an internship. I did a week through Austria and Germany by myself. So I have experience at it and I just found myself thinking a lot Man I wish Mike could see this. My best friend Shannon would laugh at this. If you do something wrong and end up having to sit in a train station for a couple hours, it's kinda hard to laugh at yourself or have a beer.

Personally I'd go on a cruise with almost anyone, even someone I wasn't close to. There is so much to do. A cousin, a coworker, a friend of a friend. There are very few people I wouldn't go on a cruise with b/c I think you can really get to know a lot about a person if you travel with them, but I'll probably never go on a cruise alone again.

Brandon
Of course I'd go alone. It's very peacful and nobody would bother me.

Cami
Maybe.......but It is a lot more fun to go with family and/or friends. Fun dinner, fun times in the pool, going down the water slides with your best Friend, or having pizza with your cousin at 12:00at night...And of course you get plenty of relaxing time too!!!!!!!!

Even if you were to cruise solo, you'd still have a blast. Besides, you wouldn't be alone for long. By the time you cruise, you ought to have many contacts established by going to http://cruisecritic.com/ What you do is click on boards. Joining is free, click on Carnival Roll Calls, then your ship, then go through the threads and find your sail date. You can then get in touch with other people going on your same cruise. We just got off the Miracle and all of us cruisecritic members had a sail away meet and greet at the aft Lido Deck bar. We all wore lei's so we would know who was from cruisecritic. We all had people to hang out with all throughout the cruise. Many of us made lifetime friends. In addition, several of us are all booking the same cruise next year so we can see each other again.
Bon Voyage!!!

martini
yeah I'd go alone. but this is only if you want to have a peaceful trip without any stress to deal with. your suite would be much peaceful too.

but at the same time, this is a cruise ship! you want to share the great memories with someone to talk about it in the next 10 years.

H NO. Carnival sucks. I just from a cruise to the western caribbean...cozumel and progresso yucatan. I went on two excursions...which were nice. Carnival has bad service and Royal Caribbean is much better. It's probably better going on a cruise with someone. It's easy to feel bored and alone. Most ppl that go on Carnival go with someone. If something happens it's always good to have another person with u.
