Hey is anyone going on the Sovereign of the Seas August 4th 2008 to the Bahamas.. I've never been on a cruise

I have not been on the Sovereign but I have been on the Splendour of the Seas which is the same class of ship and has about the same features. You will have fun on the ship. The ship has a great gym, pools and hot tubs, a basketball court and a rock climbing wall. There is also an area on ship called Adventure Ocean which is for kids and teens up to age 17. Adventure Ocean has a teen disco called Fuel which is open until 2:00AM each night. That's the place that you can meet other teens and hang out. OR, if you look older than 17 you may want to just go to the regular disco in the nightclub or Viking Crown lounge. The ship has a showroom and there will be a free show each night.

Your cruise will probably stop at CoCo Cay which is Royal Caribbeans' private island. There will be a beach party all day, the ship will bring food and you will be able to swim, snorkel, and maybe jet ski and para-sail or other water related activities.

You will have fun

There is nothing to fear and be nervous about. The ship will have a safety drill before it pulls away from the port. You will have to get your life vest from your cabin and go to the place on ship designated on the back of your cabin door for the drill. It will last about 15-20 minutes and they will tell you exactly what to do in case of emergency.

Afterwards click on Royal Caribbean Meet and Mingle and find the name of your ship on the list and see if anyone has posted any messages for the day that you are going. If so introduce yourself and maybe others your age will reply back.

If you make friends with others on the message boards that are your age. You can attend the meet and mingle party. And meet the others that you have conversed with on the message boards in person. So be sure to sign up for it while visiting the cruise critic message boards.

I'M NOT GOING, BUT CRUISES ARE THE BEST... JUST GO WITH THE FLOW AND DO EVERYTHING THAT YOU WANT...YOU WON'T BE BORED, AND YOU'LL MEET NEW PEOPLE... ENJOY!!!

you will def. have fun!!!! i went on the exact same ship back in may... we went on the 5 day one to the bahamas, is that the one you are doing? well that ship is nice big lol lots of activities it was my first cruise as well. i am 20 my sis is 14 and we both had fun. we went out of florida and stopped in cococay, beautiful island! and nassau, well that was ok. if you love buffets then you'll like the food. generally i had a good time though there is always something going on. and if you are nervous about getting seasick don't be! you can hardly feel it moving and if you are sick there at least 2 doctors on board all the time. if you get chris as your cruise director then thats awesome bc he is funny. i wish i could go again lol but have fun!!!!!! ooo i almost forgot. formal night is very formal so pack fancy clothes! and also the last day of the cruise they will make you leave the ship at 7-8am i hated that =(
