How big are the soda cups on a royal caribbean cruise?

the ones that you have to buy for the soda pass?

The refillable drink cup is about 20oz, I would venture to guess. You don't need to carry it with you, just show your Seapass with the soda pass label to any restaurant/bar staff on board and you're set.

However - do the math before you shell out $50 for a soda pass. Yes, the drinks are OUTRAGEOUS at around $3/soda. But $50 would still buy you 16 of them, more than 2 per day just to break even on the deal, for a 7 day cruise!! And, there are occasional opportunities to score free soda anyway.

Just bring a 12-pack in your luggage [$4] and order a coke when you feel like it and save your money.

Readily available free drinks on Royal Caribbean: tea, coffee, lemonade

Free at breakfast in the Lido - orange and apple juice.

Free at breakfast in the main dining room and room service: apple, orange, grapefruit, tomato, cranberry.

Free at Captain's Gala: Sodas, white wine, red wine, champagne, rum punch.

Free at Art Auctions: Champagne, orange juice

Free at invite-only Honeymooners, Platinum Club, etc. events: Champagne, white wine, sodas.

I dont think you have to buy anything. Just order the soda pass and you get a sticker on your sail pass. Then show it up at the bars when you need soda. Johan

Hate to disappoint you...they look big and fancy but don't hold too much soda. Also the bar staff fill them up with loads of ice. Be careful, the soda is often not fresh soda.

Don't waste your money on the soda pass. It might be cheaper to pay the ridiculous $3.00 per can (or whatever it is now) then pay them up front for the tiny soda cups. If you don't order alcohol on NCL cruises (especially on the Spirit), you are invisible. Have fun trying to get your soda. You'll be standing there forever and 2 sips and it's gone.

Agree with previous post...

The cup does not hold much soda.

The RC bar staff will serve everyone else before anyone they see w/the soda cup. They don't get the gratuity for serving the soda so they help everyone else first. It was a real negative for RC's service.

Well, on our first Royal Caribbean, they were kinda small but I think that was because it was on a smaller ship. The second one, they were fairly big. If you pour a can of pop in it, it fills up about maybe 2/3s of the way. i would definatly reccomend getting the soda pass though. I am 13 and all 3 cruises I've been on, my parents did that for my brother and i because otherwise the only things we could drink without paying for are ice tea, lemonade, and water, and that gets kinda boring after a while.

Okay here is the truth. You walk on board and they ask if you want to buy a soda pass. So you can get unlimited soda the whole cruise. They give you a free cup as a gift. The cups arent huge but they are that small. YOU DON"T NEED THE CUP TO GET THE DRINKS.....all you do is take your card to anywhere with pop and show them the sticker. They will give you a cup with pop. You can bring and refill your complimentary cup but there is no need to carry it around all day. The soda passes are a GREAT deal! We've gotten them on every cruise....can't imagine a cruise w/o it.
